I had downloaded this anti-dithering software "Ditherig.exe" from here Welcome
Its perfectly legitimate, I was trying to turn off dithering on graphics card to test a few things. Anyhow I no longer need it and its causing windows popup error messages when I start up the computer about Dlls that can't load. So I just want to remove it but there's no uninstall feature and it's not listed in programs or startup list.

It shows up in system tray icon area and in search results. Would simply deleting the downloaded folder do it? I think there's actual stuff it installed though.

What do I do?

I would delete the downloaded folder and see what happens. Also look in the Program Files (x86) folder. It may have installed as a 32-bit versus 64-bit program.

Okay that Seem to work lol. Thanks! Easier than I thought. Never actually officially installed I guess just temporarily running off of the download folder each time I started the computer or something.
There was nothing in the X86 folder for it. Just that downloaded folder.

Just an FYI, Malwarebytes blocked the site for me. Detected a trojan. I would never go to such an off the wall site and willy-nilly use their software. There's no telling what an executable did to your machine.

Yeah it probably would get flagged by Malwarebytes as a false positive.

It's a FOSS, here is it's GitHub

Here's a 3rd party review/tutorial about the software: Ditherig Installation Instructions

Virus total: VirusTotal (just 1 false positive)

Forum posts going back years about it: Ditherig

It's a niche software over riding iGpu firmware/driver stuff that your not supposed to messs with per se.
He also offers a bunch of other very customizing software on his site for other things.
So maybe part of the reason the site got flagged idk

You might want to download AutoRuns and removing the entries for the program. There must be something left in the registry that was starting it up: Autoruns - Sysinternals .

Do Registry Backup and/or Create a Restore point before using AutoRuns. Note that you can uncheck things that are listed in there. That allows you to turn them back on if you have issues. Restraint can be your friend in that program.

I downloaded and ran it, but not sure what most of the stuff is there. but I searched for the program name in the filter search, nothing comes up.

I searched by one of the DLL names, and I think there was 1 match? inpoutx64. See screenshot. idk if it matters or is even doing anything, probably just leftover

The classic annoyance of software that never fully removes all traces.
Why don't programmers know their jobs better.
In such cases you could run an install tracker to log everything the app does on installation then reinstall the app, then use that info to fully remove it. ;-)
