The most recent update to windows involves fixing up the start menu. Is there a workaround to removing "recommended" from the start menu without disabling the Recent Items folder?

Hello, :alien:

You could disable showing the items below on the Recommended section to help.

Appreciate the links but I'm a little confused. I don't think these links will show how to remove the Recommended section in the start menu without affecting the Recent Items folder. Can you confirm that this won't affect the Recent items folder?

It will remove those items from the Recommended section on the Start Menu, and not Recent Items.

You will not be able to remove the Recommended section if you want Recent Items to still show in that section.

After removing of all unnecessarily recommended, the "Recommended" section in fact becomes "recent", only under the different name. Or you can install alternative start menu like Open-Shell Menu where the recent documents are shown under "Documents" as it was in the past.

I've never understood why Windows tries to cater so much to your recent activity.
Like, 'Highlight recently installed programs' or 'New'..., I realize it's been recently installed cuz I'm the one who installed it! It's pointless to remind me of it!
Or, 'Recently used items'..., I know I used that item recently, I know where to find it! I'm finished with it anyway..., as a matter of fact, I've already sent it to the Recycle Bin..., why is it still in this list!?!?!? 🤷‍♂️
