Dunno. MS may have finally removed the old Start Menu functionality.

Feature ID's are built-in switches that are sometimes created so MS can perform application testing without shipping two different copies of the same program. There are two versions of a feature buried in the app, and only one of them is working at a time. This will increase the program's size. Eventually MS determines it's time to remove the old feature entirely (and shrink the app's size).

When that happens, you permanently lose the switch's effect because the old software is completely gone.

MS admitted they're working a Start Menu re-design, given the negative feedback of the current build. So if they're reworking it, they probably removed the classic menu to make room for upcoming changes.

Any feature that ViveTool can change, it can stop working because there is no hidden switch to turn on/off.

I still keep the new menu... but I use Windhawk to use a customized version instead. It can also restore the old Start Menu

Windows will be releasing a new redesigned Start menu soon, with the ability to make it look nearly identical to the old one. You can uninstall the KB5089573 preview update, go back to the previous version you were on run the Reg script on post #11, and pause updates until the new redesigned Start menu gets released in a preview update. If you are not receiving preview updates, then Patch Tuesday on June 9 will be the next Windows 11 update for stable. I recommend pausing updates before that date and simply waiting until the new redesigned Start menu gets released to stable.
