I precisely like when they are beyond MS servers, they are more likely to stay up.

It's a neat trick, and I'm sure some people will find it invaluable. I don't personally see any need for it, what I need from my phone is already synced to my PC. As I'm not fussed, I'll wait for the official launch.

Thanks John, tried it out today on my i5-2500 with 4GB .. and tell you what.. it works!! Install was so easy, same as sideloading apks. The xda documentation by Skanda Hazarika was extremly helpful here.

Only thing I need to still find out is the keyboard mapping to the Android touch screen (ie. back, all apps, home).

    Furthermore: 4 Dell/HP laptops on Win7 Ultimate x64, used for NAS, Media server, browsing, workshop and sound studio
I'm new to Android apps on Windows 11. I've installed the Textra SMS app successfully and it starts. However, it wants me to specify the app as the default SMS app for Android. I've set the Windows default app for SMS to Textra, but that doesn't help.

How do I get to Android settings as they would appear on an Android phone where default apps can be set?
