HP Inkjet Printer. Help uninstalling old one and re installing a new one

You read my mind Anak. Did that this morning through WhatsApp. Such a lot of texting though!
They got my HP Smart going again on my phone!
Took such a long while, so never got round to doing it on the PC yet. HP Smart will not load on the PC now anyway..
But at least I can Print. Though only pdfs not word docs I have.

Thanks Anak. Yes I am happy HP Smart is working on my phone now thanks to HP help.
However I eventually want it to work on the computer too. It wouldn't do before so I uninstalled it. Then trying to reinstall it, in the hope it would be OK.

MS saying there's a problem, is that the 'other' account thing? Can you post a screenshot if it shows up again?

In all probability the same thing that happened the last time, you'll lose the phone app and have to start over again.
If the MS problem is a different account, uninstalling it will break the connection and you'll lose the phone app.

* That's the bugger, how are you installing? Printer first then the phone app? If so try the phone app first and see if it asks you to then install the printer. * Hopefully that'll put the printer into the right account.

If the Hp help was a phone call to a customer service rep I would call them back, explain the situation and follow his/her prompts.

I'll probably get some remarks about what I'm going to say here and that's okay, but when I had my cannon problems I allowed the cannon rep to remotely connect with my machine and he had me running in ~15minutes.

If you do, make sure you test and check everything before you say goodbye and hang up the call.

I'm not sayin' if you do go remote with HP that HP will do any nasties to your PC, but for piece of mind run a security scan, I did and all was good.

MS said somethings gone wrong and it can't install H P Smart again.
I didn't have a phone call it was HP on WhatsApp. But they were so helpful & spent a couple of hours helping me to get HP Smart working on my phone again.. Even sending diagrams as I didn't understand. So was happy but I got slower texting that long.

When I 1st installed the printer HP Smart on my phone it worked straightaway & then I lost it so worried I will lose it again if I mess about on the computer.so hesitating.

Plus I still can't understand why I do not have my pc and the new printer showing together in HP Support. Though they assured me it is registered the same as my pc.

Who is this MS, is it a pop-up on your PC screen?
Have you tried to uninstall it from your PC before a re-install?
You may need and uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller Freeware Uninstall normally then set Revo to get the leftovers.

HP whatsapp sounds like a good deal, I usually get tied after a half hour.

At this point I'd hesitate to.

Plus I still can't understand why
The printer is on your PC but in an account you can't see or use unless you open a can of worms to get to it and use, but HP can see it when they check over internet.

Next time you're on HP's whatsapp tell them this: It's in an account you can't see or use unless you open a can of worms to get to and use, I need to start over from scratch.
Ask who you're texting if it's ok to leave the smart-app on your phone

Everyone's different about accounts; I have two on my acer one for me and a guest account, you might have two, three or even more.

I have a question that may have already been answered. I don't feel like reading a hundred + post. Have you tried installing it on the computer with a USB cable? I for one think that HP Smart is a HP pain in the.***.

It makes no difference whether the computer is connected with Ethernet or WiFi. As long as the computer is connected to your network the setup is all the same.

HP encourages you to use SmartApp but I never use it. I find it annoying so just install the HP basic printer driver. It may not as easy to use as SmartApp but at least I don't have to put up with HP nagging me to buy an ink subscription.
Tried that but sometimes works but not every time

Hi I am not well at the moment.
Printing is now a gamble!
I have tried all the replies (that I could understand to do) thanks to you all.
Not getting anywhere.
HP Smart on my phone works sometimes but not always.
Also it cannot print Word Docs has to be PDFs
My PC will not install HP Smart again it tries but then stops.
Occasionally after a long wait it may print, but throws lots of paper out first.
Now every morning and evening I get messages.... As below. Dont know how to stop them.
Have not tried to print for a week or more!

It would be better if you had an a backup image like Macrium or AOMEI Backupper Free of before the HP install but I have a feeling you don't.

If you go the system restore route it would still have to be dated before the HP install, I take that to be Dec 22, 2023 <A link to your #75 post on pg4.

Let me know before you do anything.

No it is my back and other things I am struggling with.
I would gladly walk away , for a while until I am better. Can only spend maybe 5 mins at a time on the computer.
Firstly I need to stop the continual messages to my phone.

Firstly I need to stop the continual messages to my phone.
The maybe uninstall the printer from my computer for now?
From where or whom are these continual messages coming from, HP smart? Then find where it lives on your phone usually in the apps section in system settings area and disable it. The force stop will only let it rise again to create more havoc.

If you feel well enough I'd say yea, go ahead and try to clean that up.

With this 123 error and corrupt files I'd like you to try something, it might just let you reinstall the printer. Do you know how to create an administrative CMD prompt?

If you can I'd like you to run these CMD's, CMD's are in bold:
When you create a admin CMD prompt you will always see C:\Windows\System32\ with a blinking cursor (the prompt)

Copy and paste at the Command Prompt, or type: sfc /SCANNOW There is a space after sfc, then touch enter
This will check for any integrity violations.

When done it will either say sfc either didn't find any violations or it did but it successfully repaired them

Then when thats done at the next prompt:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Watch the spacing, then touch enter, you don't get a report it'll count up in percentage at 100% it's done.

Then restart your system type, copy/paste at the next prompt: shutdown.exe -r -t 00 Watch spacing, then touch enter

When done you should be back to your desktop. Takes me about 20 to 30minutes to run.
