hp laptop reset

i have this hp laptop and when using firefox it would crash about every 5 minutes with a tab crash. i have 3 other laptops running firefox and they never crash. so i uninstalled firefox and re=installed it and it still did the same thing. so i went into the bios and did a security reset and now the thing wants some kind of code, i tried every setting in security to try and get past that and it fails every time. so it wants a bit locker code. can i just find one online or is that code specific to this machine and if so just how can i get past that code.

Are you actually running Windows 10 referenced in your system specs or are you on Windows 11? Is this Home or Pro and do you sign into your computer with a Microsoft account or local account?

the pc properties say win11 pro whe i did the install i used the win10 esd and installed win10 and let the pc tell me whenit was ready for win11. and when i installed wiin10 i decline as much as possible for not wanting all there noses in my business. but i have all my pcs set up the same way, if that helps you out.

when i start it up it wants the bitlocker recovery key and a big field to input that. if there generic key? my guess is not so how do i get past that?

Are you signing into the computer with a Microsoft account (aka an email)? If yes, from another device, follow the instructions here Find your BitLocker recovery key | Microsoft Support

never mind i pulled the drive and formatted it and reinstalling win10 for now and let win11 install automatically as it did before. maybe i had a malware on the pc if this fails it will become trash i will pull the drive and memory and toss it out.thanks

ok one more question i entered the win coed wrong it should have been 25h2 anyway i had to take the drive out and use amoe to format the drive and the use the eso for win10 and got the pc going but it seem to not want to get to win11 i tried to use the online win11 install but it gets to part 3 and 72% and stops. so i keep trying updates and so far it is not showing win11. i ran the app to see if win11 will work and the app said my pe is win11 ready. this pc is the and ryzen 3 2250u so where might i get the win11 iso and put that on a stick and then see if when i reboot that pc it will see the stick and start win11 again. it did have 25h2 pro before i got the bitlocker involved. but firefox is not crashing now so i may have had some malware that the malware app did not find.

wow that is a lot to do is there isd file i can load on a stick like the win10 esd and just reboot to the usb drive and run it for win11? i may get win11 ability in a day or so but i need to get win11 note app and win10 will not run the same app. i have data to put into the win11 notes so i can use both pcs sin different rooms.

i tried how to download win11 and i get steps to try and put it on a thumb stick and when i get to step 3 i get this

and then how do i use this i click it and nothing happens

so i was able to get the win10 iso for a stick but i just don't see anything for win11 on a stick that works.

so i went to win11 site and got as far as downloading the win11 program and it has been setting at 46% now for 2 hours. this is going to take forever at this rate. where can i get the iso to ut on the thumb stick and then put that in the usb port and reboot and let the pc use the stick to load win11 like i did for win10 with the esd stick?

please install Rufus you can get it from the Microsoft store

once installed open Rufus and in the select box to find the required windows ISO
is 'download' you can download Windows 11 to the downloads folder using Rufus

then use that Windows 11 ISO to get Rufus to burn a bootable USB to install Windows 11.

well it installed but it is doing home i had pro. maybe it will update to pro if not at least i got it. now to see if firefox works better. being i did a format of the drive 2 times and the win10 and now winn11. it did save most if not all the files but i have a backup and i will now copy all them back into this machine. using just plain copy and paste i did have rufus but completely forgot about using that app. thanks for the reminder. i have been real busy putting my house back together this summer after it burn down and my mind is on that now. again thanks
