I need assistance installing DirectX for games, please.

I've never experienced it before, so which version of DirectX should I download? I have 12

Download and install this... then open Programs & Features and you should see two for each of the years,
An x86 and x 64 version for 32 and 64 bit.

If you see more than two for a given year... check the version numbers and uninstall the older one(s).


It should look like this, except your version numbers may be newer than mine...

As for DirectX... any game that needs an older version of DirectX, should, during install... tell you that it's going to install say... DirectX 9 or 7... etc.

Some older games or programs may need older versions of DirectX and/or Visual C++

As stated above in post #3, you have the latest. DirectX now comes pre-installed in your Windows OS.

See how you go but it isn’t uncommon to be asked to install older versions for games due to the library contained within
