I guess people don;t read or don't trust? The only reason Asus pulled it is they had an internal disagreement for the default setting (enabled or disabled) for the firmware TPM. You can make that choice yourself - it should be enabled for Windows 11. There is no technical issue it is internal politics/marketing at Asus.

I already enabled it myself on the current bios, thus me installing the Win 11 beta already. So it didn't hurt anything to not install the pulled bios yet. So far I haven't had any issues of note.

They settled their internal disagreement and apparently marketing won. PTT (fTPM) are enabled by default.

Changes from 2103 to 2301 for Z490 BIOS are mostly for supporting Rockit Lake 11th Gen on the Z490.

Unless you are running Rockit Lake and/or overclocking on the edge, there is really no difference.

The ASUS ROG Strix Z590-A Gaming WiFi 6 (which is my model) is the only board so far that hasn't had that bios posted, removed and posted.

I think next gen boards should have it enabled but for now, those who don't want it will complain that boot has slowed down (unless they tweaked the update) because when enabled it slightly slows down boot (at least on mine when I enabled it).

Love fast boots
Yeah, my ASUS MB definitely boots on the slow side. I'd say it's the slowest booting machine I have had in a decade, but once booted it runs great.

I also cannot get Wake-On-LAN to work in the last several BIOS versions. It used to work, but sadly no longer even after hours trying everything I can think of. Only known change is BIOS version.

Incoming 9E bios error codes. Newest bios seems to create it on the B550 boards, relates to TPM changes. Seems PC boots but its still new.

I've been building systems with Asus boards for over 20 years. I usually never buy a board until it has been in stores for at least 1 year because they are always plagued with bugs. I went against my own rules (REGRET BADLY) an bought this board as soon as it was available.

I have the new USB sound chip and I searched for months trying to find why my Windows lost almost 15 seconds of boot time to finally find that it was the C615 web cam having an issue. This cam haw worked with at least 5 generations of Asus boards without an issue and with this new sound chip just problems.

Well, they haven't released a new BIOS for the X570 yet. There's a Beta in the works, but it doesn't mention anything about Win 11.

ASUS plans are completely obscure. They haven't even included to the check-list my MB ASUS Maximus VIII Gene, despite the fact that it uses Z170 chipset and supports Kaby Lake CPUs. Last time its BIOS has been updated in April 2018, so my hopes are very slim.

Much more likely I will have to upgrade PC anyway, waiting now for upcoming Alder Lake, but ASUS hasn't yet announced whether and when it will release the MBs with Z690. I doubt that they have a prototype...

Interesting, my B350 already has the updated bios from last year and my Z170 is supposedly compatible when it doesn't support anything over 7th Generation, could this be a clue be that Asus know something about generation 7 or older support?

Strange.

Asus previously had a beta BIOS (4010, dated 7/22) available for my motherboard (Tuf X570 Gaming Plus). Today, I saw a new one, 4005, also dated 7/22. that is supposed to support Win 11. And 4010 again, dated 8/5. I reflashed the "new" 4010. It actually is dated 8/5/2021. It did not turn on all of the hardware security devices by default.

No obvious harm, yet. I have been having problems with the board failing to recognize the graphics on waking from sleep, but that has been happening, on and off for a while, with several builds of Windows 10 and several BIOS versions.

I have a new ASUS vivobook and it is bugged with respect to booting up in graphics mode rather legacy mode.

I have a multi boot setup (w10, w11 vhd, w10 other vhd) and if boot mode is set to legacy, I get the boot menu if I restart or cold start.

If I have fast startup enabled in w10, it starts in graphics mode despite legacy bios setup.

If I set boot to be in graphics mode, I get it on a cold start provided fast startup is on.

However on a restart, it boots to a blank screen but you can press an option where graphics boxes are supposed to be and it boots that option. I disabled the iris graphics driver using basic MS driver, and graphics menu show. This latter glitch is driver related rather than bios related.

So clearly bios is bugged exacerbated with graphics driver bug.

So I have fast start enabled, with legacy text mode enabled, so Inalways see a menu, but even then I get graphics mode on cold start of w10 host (after first boot generating hibernation file).

Other than that pc works fine but these bugs are disappointing.

My old laptop had none of these issues.
