I installed Windows 11 on my iBuyPower AsRock Gaming Desktop. It seemed the easiest Windows upgrade I ever did.
If it was actually an update to Windows 10, like the Upgrade History infers, that could explain why it was so easy.

Over the three days I have used it, there were no problems. Again, unusual.
I do like it quite a bit, but do I love it? Time will tell.

I just tried to upgrade my HP laptop.
It said it upgraded, but still Windows 10. Must have been a Win 10 update.

Tried again in the morning, still no go.
After some research on this Forum, I downloaded the Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
Installation is now at 84%.

I just tried to upgrade my HP laptop. Doh!! It's running the Home version.
MS wants $100 to upgrade to Pro.
I'll monitor the Desktop for a couple of weeks.
A $100 upgrade gets done for love, but not for like.

Chances are good I'll keep it on my desktop.
Why are you comparing upgrading Windows 10 to 11 to upgrading Home to Pro? They are two completely different upgrade situations. If you want to upgrade Home to Pro, you can get a Pro product key for about $15.

This will show you how to view the Windows Upgrade History on your system. You should be able to see if that first attempt to upgrade your HP laptop was indeed just a Windows 10 upgrade.

When I got back from church, it was all installed and working.

All's well that ends well. I'm happy.
