Please correct me if anyone can confirm that I am wrong, but it was my understanding that this method no longer works. However, even if that is true, there are still multiple easy workarounds so I'm not at all try to discourage anyone. In fact, quite the opposite.

Nothing has changed yet [23H2].
You are thinking of 24H2. Bree has already been experimenting and his recommendation is in that link.

it still works
what does not work is setup.exe /product server

My thinking is it will still work on 24h2. IMO, it would be a good thing for MS to let capable machines run their latest OS.
Less landfill waste, more win 11 installs. More happy win 11 users.
One of the reasons people do not switch to 11 is they do not want to buy an expensive new PC while the old one works perfect on 10
Something like 30% are on 11 and 60% are still on 10

I'm a bit confused by the multiple "it"s above but Bree has also experimented with the setupprep.exe /product server idea for 24H2.
His response is in the post after I asked him about it.

It's confusing, keeping track of all these workarounds.
The very similar one that worked for 23H2 but no longer works in 24H2 is setup.exe /product server

Yean I started to experience really bad battery life on my S21, which is nearing 3 years old. Had the battery replaced, but still experienced rather poor battery life. After lots of investigating, found that my corporate partition for work stuff had an app that was causing my CPU to run nearly 100%....which is what was killing the battery life.

In talking with my provider, they just wanted to sell me a new S24 and thought that replacing the battery was not a great idea. Well, the issue there is that I am diabetic and my insulin pump application will NOT install on the S24. They only support up to an S23. So, had I gone with the S24, I would have had to carry a second PDM device around (which is bigger than my S21+) to handle my insulin pump. Then Verizon was giving me crap that the medical companies need to get the newest phones supported as soon as they come out. Had to explain to Verizon that these were life sustaining medical devices and they have lots of testing and approvals to get through before they can just be supported. The Omnipod 5 came out in August of 2022, and still doesn't have support for iPhone...at all. Apparently coming in next 2 months.

As far as the OP goes, your system may only be 2-3 years old to you, but a 7th generation intel chip isn't only 2-3 years old.

In addition to a Notebook I got Oct. '21 and a Desktop in Apr. '22 [both Dells] with Win11, I have a Notebook and Desktop from '19 [both HP I was given for parts but fixed] running Win11 after upgrading from Win10, all meeting the specs. I also have a Dell Notebook and HP Notebook, both from '14, running unsupported after upgrading from Win10. For the unsupported I run the upgrade from within Win10 using the USB drive, make the single-file change in the Sources and run setup.exe from the root of the USB.
