Internet Modem/Router Not Working?


The flashing was the modem checking itself when you reset it with the paper clip. But its own test failed, and it does you no good. When you talk to them, they'll remotely check it out, and I'm confident that you're going to get a technician visit and a new modem.

So you are saying based on what I did, the modem failed then 100%? The fact that there was a loud phone tone made me think it was going to work because whenever the internet goes out and then comes back on later, once there is that loud phone tone, that would mean the landline phone would work and so would the internet. But it's the same lights shown.


Is it possible this issue could be fixed on their end with their computers? A while back I remember they did something on their computers and that fixed it. But few other times, they had to send in technician. Once I recall they fixed the wiring outside the building and it worked. The other time it was fixing wiring but also replacing the modem.

It's possible they can fix it remotely. I doubt it, but it's possible. I think your cable connection has failed, and that will take some repair if true, but that won't be indoors in your home. I thnk you might need BOTH: outside repair on the line, and a new modem. Good luck on Tuesday. You could always try to get them tomorrow (Sunday), but these places tend to put the lowest-paid operators on the phones on weekends, so the better operators can have the weekend off. Worth a try, though. Good luck!

The Top Led light is solid green.

The Download Signal is blinking green every 2 seconds.

The Upload Signal does not display anything.

The @ or online status does not display anything.

The 2.4 ghz shows solid green light.

The 5.0 ghz shows solid green light.



So based on all that, is it most likely my router? The @ icon does not show any light at all. It isn't green or green/red or red. It isn't on.


I'm not located in the US or Canada. The last time I went to their office and they sent a technician over but that was a while back.

We are all trying to help you but you are not reciprocating. If you are not in USA/Canada, where are you? Where is the problem modem? Is that a business or office that you run? Why can't the local staff deal with this?

Well I have to speak to them then.


I'm outside the US/Canada now. It's my own internet that I use and been using for a long time. Several times a while back they had to send in a technician to either fix the wiring or fix the wiring and replace the modem. Once they just fixed it at their office somehow.


I don't speak the language so that is another issue. The thing is I want to know if there are any other things I could try that might fix it before I speak to them. When I say speak to them, I mean go to their office. Is it possible that I could try to connect to another outlet?

Yeh, that was one though that crossed my mind

On the other hand, the cynic in me suspects otherwise, given the OPs reticence to respond to requests for details/information - especially concerning the hardware and service type - and the vague references to the "office" and language issues, which seems to have unnecessarily prolonged the thread .... a mythical being of Norse mythology origins.
