Is OneDrive actually of any use?

I don't know what to say other than I've used OneDrive for more than 15 years and it's always been literally an instantaneous sync. I keep all my data and all my pictures, currently a total of 205 GB, in my OneDrive folder and OneDrive cloud is always in identical sync. I use two computers at the same time and both sync to OneDrive. I can go back and forth between the two totally transparently as they are both always using identically the same data.

It would be of some use if someone could come up with a reason that @fixer has an Internet connection that is fast for everything except his OneDrive. The only thing that OneDrive users have been able to add to the thread is that their OneDrive is instantaneous, as is mine.

The only thing I see that is different for @fixer is that he is using the free 5GB and the rest of us are using the 1TB that comes with Microsoft 365.

The only thing I've been able to come up with is that when you make a local change to OneDrive, OneDrive cloud has to be refreshed in order to see the change.

Can you imagine the number of forum contributors who'd be aimlessly wandering the streets if it wasn't for the distraction of having to help trapped users with problems created by OneDrive?

Aside from the matter of OneDrive being a tad bit intrusive when a new Build comes along, can't say I've ever had a real problem with it, or any other drive, for that matter, Google Drive, Proton Drive, Mobi-Drive..., I just don't have a need for them and don't use them! 🤷‍♂️

Far better question would be "For those who use Onedrive, why?"

That would (theoretically LOL but you know this forum) eliminate all the "I hate Onedrive - Satan's proxy" type of posts.

In the end, it is blooming simple - use it or don't use it - user preference!
