MS Phone Link of any use?

I put Phone Link onto my Windows PC in an attempt to make it easier to get files from my Android phone. First thing I notice is it only allows me to copy one photo at a time. Second thing I notice is it shrinks the resolution to under a quarter! Third thing I notice is it doesn't deal with other types of file. What?!?!? Can anyone get this app to do anything remotely useful?

I use it to send or reply to text messages with responses that have more text than I like to type on my phone. Beyond this I haven't found it useful for much else.

TO send or retrieve files from my PC, which is something I do a fair amount of, I use the phone's File Manager+ app. It does 2-way communication with my PC perfectly. The app is old and hasn't been updated in quite a while, but that's not a problem because it works exactly the way it should.

I can type almost as fast on the phone anyway. I use two fingers instead of 4, but near enough. I'm almost as fast as a touch typist on a keyboard (but I do have to look at the keys), and 3/4s of that speed on a phone.

I've been using KDE connect for files. For some reason it's only one file at a time PC to phone, but I'm mainly doing it the other way, getting several photos I took on the phone to put on Ebay, in that direction I can select several and send at once, and they're instantly in the downloads folder over WiFi.

I'll keep File Manager+ in mind. KDE only broke once, I fixed it by rebooting both devices. I can only remember one time I transferred loads from PC to phone, a bunch of music to go on holiday, I just used a USB cable.

I use File Manager + too. I also use File Manager - XFolder.
File Manager - XFolder is probably slightly better. They both support FTP file transfers, which makes it simple for transferring files from a phone to a computer and vice versa, but File Manager - XFolder also supports anonymous logins.
