please do me a favor..., post an exact query the way you would enter it in your search engine with an explanation of the characters and what their function is, then I'll paste it into mine and see what I come up with!

In Google Search type:
site:amazon.de "HDD" "3.5" "8TB" -2.5
It will search Amazon.de only for exact match that must contain keywords HDD, 3.5 and 8TB, and will exclude all 2.5 drives

nice to see Amazon agree with me, that Seagate drive that tops the list is the one I've bought for the last few drives - Good drive too. designed for Raid arrays but works great as single drives too

I will try and think of a better example but for starters, pets -dog -cat on DuckDuckGo has 22 results containing dog or cat.

Years ago, no results would have included either cat or dog.

In Google and DDG the SITE operator does work. If I want healthcare information, but nothing whacky from the USA, I might type

site:.uk asthma or, more specifically, SITE:nhs.uk asthma

If you search on Google or DDG for mammoth AND caterpillar you get results with only one of those words.

The AND operator used to mean, give me results with BOTH words.
