I don't see an option to enable it. Is my version just bugged?
Nope, it's normal. I just do some tricks to make it happens.
You can check here:
Windows 11 Uncombined and Unlocked Taskbar

or try to run a command (WIN +R) like this:
shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
006.jpg

To bring up the system tray icons control, like this:
007.jpg

Then you can choose "Turn system icons on or off" and find the clock.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I entered the string into cmd and turned the clock on, but for some reason I am still unable to show the clock on my other monitor windows.

Nah., I don't want al that. I just want a clock on the other taskbar lol.

I actually like the new context menu, as it puts what I need front and center (as long as they leave properties in the main context menu I will not complain). And most of the other stuff in Win11 as default.

I was just surprised that the shell folder access was not working all of a sudden.

Were you able to find a solution to just change the clock without messing with the start menu and such? Any help is much appreciated.

Well, I have one backup solution, because I paid for the Binary Fortress application DisplayFusion a long time ago, but my license is still valid, so I could always use that. But I didn't mention it because it's not a free solution.

But for anyone interested, it does support having clocks on all taskbars that it creates, supports multiple monitors having taskbars, and a lot of other features:

They are actively working on Windows 11 support right now, it is buggy still, but they are installing the Dev channel builds to keep testing DF for Win11 support.

As far as pricing goes, they have a few different licenses. personal singly computer license is $29 USD, but for 50% more you can get a personal site license, allowing you to install it on all the computers you own at home and one computer at work that only you use.

Finally, you don't have to buy it, you can use DF in free mode, but see this page for he differences between free and pro:

The free version does NOT support clocks on multiple taskbars. However, I haven't tried it recently, and don't know if there is a way to use it in free mode on your secondary monitor (for those with only 2 monitpors) and thus have a clock on the regular taskbar and on the only DF taskbar that you use. I doubt it though.

Again, though, even the latest beta, version 10 beta 3, has issues on Windows 11, so it is still in development.

There is feedback submitted on the feedback hub with a lot of upvotes from people complaining about this. The quickest and easiest way I've found (for now) is I'm using the Sense Desktop app, from the Microsoft Store. I currently have just the free trial, but it does cost 99 cents. There is an option to have it show above other windows, so that's just what I'm using for now, better than nothing.

Any other app/software suggestion to display the time and day of the week in a nice GUI? I am currently using wallpaper engine, there are many options, but 10% CPU is a steep price to pay, even without audio visualization running.

Then you can choose "Turn system icons on or off" and find the clock.
I turned the clock on in the "Turn system icons on or off". It defaults back to off on restart, though. Oh, well. It was worth a try. Thanks for the tutorial.

Here's the response regarding clocks on all monitor taskbars I received from Allison S., a Microsoft Engineer, in the Feedback Hub:
"Thanks for reaching out about this. It's not something we currently support, however your interest in having such an option has been passed along to the engineering team for future consideration."

So, that's a "maybe we'll do it.... maybe we won't" to me!

But how did you get it to sit on top of the startbar?
-edit-
When you find the right clock (in a skin) right click the clock, settings -> Posistion -> Stay topmost

You can set the skin Position to Stay topmost just like in the screenshot and then drag the skin to anywhere on the Taskbar. 😉
