Windows 11 build no. 21996.1
As the title says, there is no option for enabling the showing of taskbars on all monitors for my computer, nor any further customization options relating to how taskbar icons are arranged or distributed on them. I enabled them through Regedit but the icons only show on my main monitor. I'd really like some help. Is it just this Windows build version that's the issue, Windows 11 as a whole, or something else?

Hi back at you. When Settings opens, select the Personalization option on the left panel. Scroll down and expand the Taskbar menu. Click to expand the Taskbar behaviors menu. Check the Show my taskbar on all displays option.
If it isn’t there, could very well be a current bug, which there seems to be a few of lately.

Maybe it is a bug, I'm not sure. This is what my settings menu looks like for taskbar settings.

Hello @Cranky and welcome to ElevenForum. :-)

You need to update to the latest version of Windows 11.
You're using an unsupported pre-release build of Windows 11.
In short... the version you are running is two years old... we have nothing in Settings to compare with.
Any tweaks or work-arounds we use, won't even work on your Windows 11 version.

Image1.jpg

The current regular channel (non-Insider), version of Windows 11 is: 22621.2283

The easiest way to get up-to-date is as follows...

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper Standard
Making a backup is optional, but always a smart move.
Macrium Reflect
AOMEI Backupper Standard (free)

Get the Windows 11 ISO and save it to your desktop...

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations.
Your drivers, programs and data will be intact.

Wow, with a machine equipped like yours you are hobbling yourself tremendously by running that old version. @Ghot is correct. Get on board with 22h2 before 23h2 is released next month. That was a leaked build and never official. What concerns me is you have received NO updates since you installed it. Since it is NOT an official build, I would bet a dollar to a donut that an upgrade will fail. I believe you will have to do a clean install.
