Is this the proper way to remove a user account?

Weren't you asked during the deletion whether or not you wanted to delete its folders & files?

Hi Denis.. Yes I wanted to delete the files in the old account without deleting those files saved in the onedrive.

You have OneDrive syncing set up but
- I do not know why that should happen after the online-linked user account has been deleted, if it really has been.
- If you have deleted the user account, surely you do not want its folders & files in OneDrive anymore?
Does Net user agree that the user account has been deleted?

So how can I delete that folder associated with the deleted user account without deleting those files in onedrive?

Below is my Net User:

Since OneDrive was set to sync with the files of the now-deleted user account the OneDrive backups will also be deleted when the user account's files are.
If that's not what you want, - you can log in to OneDrive account online and download the files somewhere else first.
Or,
- since you haven't yet deleted them from your computer, you can keep logged into X and copy the files directly from C:\Users\XX to somewhere else.

So youre saying that in order to keep my files and delete the old user account folder that I back up those files someplace else. Then I should delete the old user account folder. After that I should then backup the files to the onedrive again. Is this correct?

After that ...
Yes, you can then back them up afterwards however you want.
But you seem to imply that you still want to use the same OneDrive account to back them up to. That confuses me.
Perhaps you need to create a new thread specifically for the OneDrive issue so you can attract the attemtion of members who know about OneDrive.
- Do check OneDrive-related tutorials first in case one of them already covers the subject.
- Perhaps you could call any new thread, Backup to OneDrive from a local user account.

Best of luck,

Hi Denis... I never implied I wanted to use my old onedrive. I just want to back up these files to whatever onedrive, whether new or old. Microsoft makes backing up files so goddamn confusing and complicated. Onedrive is a fking piece of sh'it. Anyway, when I delete my folder associated with the old account that was removed before, will I lose my onedrive or will I have to create a new onedrive? If so, how?

Also, I still want to completely remove my email address from the start menu. As you know I have an administrator account. We've touched upon this several times but the email is still there. How can I do this?

And how do I completely remove the folder associated with my old user account that we discussed before??

I think that means you have to log into an online-linked user account on your computer not a local user account.
I backup to external HDDs [and I also backup to internal locations as a convenience]. So I can use a local user account.

I saw your other thread about this.
I do not understand why that email address appears anywhere since that online-linked user account was deleted.
Unless you have logged into your local user account then gone online and logged into an MS service such as the MSStore or maybe you have set up OneDrive syncing in that local user account. I've seen reports that doing so can transform a local user account into a hybrid account.

I think you should be able to just delete them without any problems.
What's holding you back is that there is some OneDrive syncing still set up for those folders. I don't understand that.
