Is this the solution to connect a soundbar to a monitor that has no HDMI ARC / eARC ?

I have high frequency hearing lose. Even though I never heard ATMOS sound I doubt I would get the full benefit of it.

I'm speaking of ATMOS as compared to 2D sound formats.

Elders may not receive the "full benefit" of stereo.

I don't have trouble telling what direction a sound is coming from. I do have trouble hearing what people are saying, the dialog of some movies and TV shows plus the vocals of some songs. Because of the loss of high frequencies I either can't hear people or I hear their words wrong. As for some TV shows, movies and music, the background sounds are louder then the dialog or vocals. Back in October of last year I gave in and had my hearing checked. I now wear hearing aids. They have made a big difference but I feel they are way over priced. I understand that the technology behind hearing aids is expensive but IMHO is just an excuse to over inflate the cost. Ever wonder why most eye glasses are expensive? It all falls back to one company having control over most eye glasses made.

It´s not the technology, but an over-regulated market which inhibited competition, and controlled by an oligopoly of 4 companies. But now there are OTC (Over-The-Counter) hearing aids, which are less expensive.

It has been very recent that they have been able to classify them as actuall hearing aids and not amplifiers. If one wants to go that route they have to be careful. Before I decided to go to Miracle Ear I did a lot of research on OTC hearing aids and between the positive and negative reviews I decide not to try them. When it comes to the time I need a new pair of hearing aids the OTC hearing aids should not only be way more improved but help lower the cost of prescription hearing aids. Or at least I hope so.
