Solved just got my lattitude 5580 and it is good, except I can't log into my microsoft account?

I am using it, signed into outlook, and gmail. Went to add my Microsoft account to the laptop. It authenticates fine. Then it asks for the password one more time, and FAILS
What causes that??

Well this is dumb!
Apparently it is activated to my online account now, except it fails the second time it asks to confirm the password

It now says linked, whereas before it just said activated
????????????????????

I am about to upgrade to 11

My advice...DO NOT use your Microsoft acct to sign in to your computer. Use a Local acct only to sign in. You can then have ur Microsoft acct to login to other Microsoft accts.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
You might try running updates until you are current. That is a very old version. Try again after that. Also, is your current account on the computer a local account? If it is, it is asking for that password not the online Microsoft password.

All I can think is it is a bug in the 10 pro OS
I don't think it's a local account as it is logged into my Microsoft account and shows it online.

I am bypassing all 10 updates, will install 11 23H2

I am doing this to see how the thing works, if hardware is ok.
I then plan to swap an NVME drive out of my broken ASUS intel laptop of similar hardware and put it into this one.
Since it is activated and linked, and the hard drive does not figure into activations, it should just work.

This will leave me with an extra NVME win 11 drive.

Updates are cumulative, so there would only be one update to make it current.
