Windows 11 servicing stack update (KB5052915)- 26100.3321​

This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates. Known issues in this update

1 Roblox

Applies to: All Users

Symptoms
We’re aware of an issue where players on Arm devices are unable to download and play Roblox from the Microsoft Store on Windows.

Workaround
Roblox is working on a resolution to address this issue. Please refer to the Roblox support site for updates. Until the resolution is available, players on Arm devices can play Roblox by downloading the title directly from www.Roblox.com.

2 Citrix

Applies to: IT Admin

Symptoms
Devices that have certain Citrix components installed might be unable to complete installation of the January 2025 Windows security update. This issue was observed on devices with Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) version 2411. The 2411 version of this application was released in December 2024.

Affected devices might initially download and apply the January 2025 Windows security update correctly, such as via the Windows Update page in Settings. However, when restarting the device to complete the update installation, an error message with text similar to “Something didn’t go as planned. No need to worry – undoing changes” appears. The device will then revert to the Windows updates previously present on the device.

This issue likely affects a limited number of organizations as version 2411 of the SRA application is a new version. Home users are not expected to be affected by this issue.

Workaround
Citrix has documented this issue, including a workaround, which can be performed prior to installing the January 2025 Windows security update. For details, see Citrix’s documentation.

Microsoft is working with Citrix to address this issue and will update this documentation once a resolution is available.

3 Microsoft Copilot

Applies to: All Users

Symptoms

We're aware of an issue with the Microsoft Copilot app affecting some devices. The app is unintentionally uninstalled and unpinned from the taskbar.

Note: This issue has not been observed with the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.

Workaround

This issue has been fixed, and the affected devices are being returned to their original state. You can also reinstall the app from the Microsoft Store and pin it to the taskbar.

Install this update
Method 1: Install all MSU files together
Download all MSU files for KB5053598 from Microsoft Update Catalog and place them in the same folder (for example, C:/Packages). Use Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM.exe) to install the target update. DISM will use the folder specified in PackagePath to discover and install one or more prerequisite MSU files as needed.

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

Guys, the number of reclaimable packages still remain 2 right?

I ran /startcomponentcleanup, within a few sec (==70.0%== ) the operation completed successfully.

26100.3476...so far, so good...
After the update you have to reboot. Did you see at first Installing updates 0%-30% (My screen went black) and after the reboot it continued with 30%-100%? I had to reboot twice before the 30%-100% part. After a shutdown my system didn't. It wanted... Turned the power off forcefully.
Today at startup; sfc /scannow found errors and repaired it. DISM /CheckHealth found errors. DISM /RestoreHealth took a long time (10 min) to finish. Was stuck at 62,3% for most of the time. The CBS.log showed progress all the time so it was busy. Mind you; I have a fresh new Win installed on 2/3/2025 and had 1 update since; 26100.3323. Did not expect that I came in trouble so soon with 26100.3476.

Curious if anybody else had problems; execute sfc /scannow and DISM /CheckHealth..... to see if your system is in good health.

Yes. As I found out this is normal. This issue can not be resolved. I know; I tried. Messed up my windows system really good. (Luckily a VM)

Open the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log file and search for; "is a top-level package and is deeply superseded"

You will find 2 hits; Those are those 2 unreclaimable packages.

@hader Thanks for your explanation and as for the /RestoreHealth stuck at 62.3% for a period of time also I think is a common thing. While I saw @Ghot ==100%== the operation completed successfully.

Yes! Unfortunately I must agree. Never had any problems like this, but I have seen that too much for my taste. Probably one of those undocumented features; "2 Unreclaimable packages" and "stuck at 62,3%" 😮.........😆😆 . Oh well. Keeps us busy.... 😒

No, what I meant was that both scans repaired what was needed to be repaired (didn't check the logs), and then when I restarted my PC I re-ran the scans and all was/is fine.

I've noticed after the last couple of Updates DISM getting stuck at 62.3 % for some time, probably 10-15 minutes but it is still processing and eventually gets up to 100%. A "feature" yes LOL.

Quick tip to watch the progress during the "Stuck at 62,3%" period when using DISM;
Start PowerShell as admin, issue this command; Get-Content C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log -tail 10 -wait
Some peoples jaw dropped onto the floor; They saw progress now...

Is also valid for any DISM command. Nice to see what DISM is doing.
When finished after a while (2 min) you will see: Ending TrustedInstaller finalization. (before that some stats will flyby. You can scroll up to see. Above that the summary is very interesting because it shows how many corruptions it found and how many repaired corruptions it repaired. Should all be 0 in the end.)
At the same time the service Windows Modules Installer (aka TrustedInstaller) will shutdown. Reason? Nothing to do anymore.

The geniuses at MS, did it again. What happened to "If it is not broken, don't touch it"?
Now the message showing that the MS store is up to date was removed on all windows 11 Builds including public build 26100.3476.
The checkmark only shows for a couple of seconds, and hard to even notice.
I'd like to see the old message back, it was useful to know when the store was up to date. Why did they remove it?

@fg2001gf11F . Yes I noticed the "MS Store Is UpTo Date" message was missing on all our devices. There was an update to the MS Store app yesterday which showed in Reliability Monitor as "failed to install " again on all devices, although MS Store seems to be working. I thought the up to date part was related to that?
