Hello Windows Insiders!

Today, we are making this year’s annual feature update Windows 11, version 25H2 (Build 26200.5074) available in the Release Preview Channel for customers to preview ahead of general availability later this calendar year.

Windows 11, version 25H2 will be delivered as an enablement package (eKB). This means that Windows 11, version 24H2 and version 25H2 use a shared servicing branch. It also means that they also share the same new features and enhancements delivered through our continuous innovation efforts. Windows 11, version 25H2 also includes some feature removals such as PowerShell 2.0 and Windows Management Instrumentation command-line (WMIC). And for our commercial customers, Windows 11, version 25H2 includes the ability for IT admins to remove select pre-installed Microsoft Store apps via Group Policy/MDM CSP on Enterprise/EDU devices. For more details on Windows 11, version 25H2, see this blog post.

Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel can install Windows 11, version 25H2 via our “seeker” experience in Windows Update. This means if you are an Insider currently in the Release Preview Channel on a PC that meets the Windows 11 hardware requirements, you can go to Settings and Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 11, version 25H2 if you want. Once you update your PC to Windows 11, version 25H2, you will continue to automatically receive new servicing updates through Windows Update (the typical monthly update process). For instructions on how to join the Windows Insider Program and join your PC to the Release Preview Channel, click here.

Commercial* customers enrolled in the Windows Insider Program for Business can begin validating Windows 11, version 25H2 on PCs in their organizations. For these customers, the Windows 11, version 25H2 is available through Windows Update for Business (WUfB) and Windows Server Update Service (WSUS). Azure Marketplace will be available later today. You can learn more about deploying pre-release feature updates using these deployment methods here. Should any issues arise, IT admins in organizations deploying Release Preview updates can request Microsoft Support.

And finally – ISOs will be available for download for Windows 11, version 25H2 via the Windows Insider ISO download page next week. [UPDATE 9/10] The ISOs for Windows 11, version 25H2 are now available for download.

Right after my system rebooted from the 26100.5074 I saw the option update on the main WU page. If you don't see it you can run the enablement tool and get it anyway.

    With all this gaming rig I am not a gamer!
After three days of putzin around and configuring everything but the basic program finally the droid link to windows works, make sure your android has latest software version "15". Other than that not seeing much difference in previous to this. Go figure.

After this update on R.P. channel, I saw that it is finally finding the Previous Windows installarion (Windows.old) and the 190MB of Windows Update cleanup.
I hit Remove files, and both were removed properly. 👍

Still shows the 2 reclaimable here which are part of
Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~26100.1742.1.10
They were put back by reinstalling the Repair version when the normal windows update failed on this machine on every retry.
I did not want to remove them again till I get a better clarification of what they can cause when removed. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

No don't worry. I don't know why the Phone sidebar was working for weeks, even before 25H2 but now it disappeared

Hmmm, listening to you guys it sounds like this build hasn't enabled all the new features yet for 25H2? I can't tell because I have them all enabled from previously using Vivetool to enable them including the new battery icons.

I used the secpol.msc method, I can set it in there but doesn't show in the Defender security settings
Must be just in Dev builds for now

I was on 26200.5074 last night. When I turned my PC on this morning it wanted to update to 22620.XXXX but I stopped it.

If 25H2 follows the way things have worked in recent years, someone not interested in being an Insider will be able to take the ISO (released as soon as tomorrow, or one that they make), install it, and then get CU's for it on Patch Tuesdays going forward, all without being an Insider. In other words, at this point 25H2 will receive non-Insider updates, just like 24H2 and anything else that's still supported.

I would presume that any version you currently have installed will get appropriate updates no matter if you're an Insider or not. The updates are applied based in the installed Windows build.

Looks like you have a typo on you post #76, it should be 26220.XXXX. 😎
