Update : I download from the MS catalog site 3 times with Firefox and attempted to install but always got an error it was not compatible with my system. I then opened MS Edge and downloaded and installed, rebnooted twice and just fine. Go figure that one lol

Looks like you might have downloaded the wrong .msu on your 3 tries with Firefox. This one worked for me.

Downloaded this one ahead of time from the Microsoft catalog site. Nothing real important this time a number of improvements.
Installed it. DISM and SFC OK. 1 package to be cleanup (3 to 2 again)
To see what it does. I can see that (again) 141 drivers in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers directory are replaced with this update. If signed; pointing still towards the (old) "Microsoft Windows Production PCA 2011" certificate. No CA2023 certificate to be seen inside the intermediate certificate store.... As expected......

KB5079391; windows11.0-kb5079391-x64_0a0129ebe88fdd66e19ac7d40d9cddd0b18c3332.msu is for 25H2 (The long Hex in the filename is the SHA1 checksum)

I think you made a mistake here. No KB are the same. So KB5079391 can't be 26200.8106 and 26200.8116 at the same time.
In the Microsoft update catalogus version 26200.8106 does not even exist. So.....
The proper KB inside the MS Update Catalogus is; KB5079391; windows11.0-kb5079391-x64_0a0129ebe88fdd66e19ac7d40d9cddd0b18c3332.msu (26200.8116)

What was your previous version? 26200.8037 or 26200.8039? Because this preview version jumps to 26200.8116.

Since it was yanked by Microsoft, I'm not going to bother trying to backdoor it. I don't see anything significant it's going to fix, so I'll wait for the "official" WU version to come back for the other machines.

In the Update catalog the download option gives you 2 msu's for downloading.

Found out they messed up with this one. KB5043080 points towards: September 10, 2024—KB5043080 (OS Build 26100.1742) an old and first build of 24H2. It should not be there on this page!!! So first check the KB number for which version it is intended and download the correct one.

*32.msu is intended for 25H2. If you have 25H2 and try to install *e8.msu then the message is correct.
Or just wait until the update arrives by normal means.

*Edited... Mentioned this mistake on the MS Forum to delete that erroneous entry.

With update KB5079387 26200.8106 already installed, I installed KB5079391 26200.8116 over the previous one. Everything installed correctly, but after the installation, I noticed several changes in the Start menu. On two occasions, after restarting, the "Installing updates" message reappeared. All signs point to more problems. The horror story with Microsoft updates continues.

*32.msu is intended for 25H2. If you have 25H2 and try to install *e8.msu then the message is correct.
Or just wait until the update arrives by normal means.

*Edited... Mentioned this mistake on the MS Forum to delete that erroneous entry.

I just had to reinstalled Windows 11 Pro on both of my Dell laptops. Both laptops had KB5079391 (26200.8116) installed on them and not sure what happened. Both Dell laptops would not start up and after several power cycles on trying to get them to boot up, I gave up. Figured it would be faster to reinstall Windows 11 Pro back on them.

Now both Dell laptops are on Windows 11 Pro 26200.8039. The KB5079391 (26200.8116) update was not available in Windows Update.

The HP laptop with Windows 11 Pro 26200.8116 will not run Google Play Games, Microsoft account in Microsoft Edge does not sync (error: unknown error), and Microsoft 365 apps are in error due to Microsoft account is in error. I cannot figure out what is wrong with the Microsoft account on the HP laptop. That same Microsoft account logs in and out just fine on the other Dell laptops that I just reloaded. The HP laptop has been running without problems for nearly two years. That is mostly used for MS 365 apps and general web browsing.

I am very interested to know why Microsoft removed the KB5079391 (26200.8116) update from Windows Update.

You 'had to update' ? What made you feel compelled to get it after MS withdrew it from Windows Update? It's only a preview after all. I got it on just one machine before it vanished. Nothing broke, but for the rest I'll wait for it to reappear in WU. ;)

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I was in the middle of the update and the W.U stopped working for no reason at all.
The update from the catalog worked just fine. This described below is just annoying MS B.S.
