That is the expected behavior for KB5043080, it is already installed on most machines, so you only need KB5079391.

And since I keep all my data and photos in OneDrive, I will never lose even a single byte of anything I'm working on, since I'm mirrored in real-time in cloud OneDrive and I'm mirrored in real-time locally on both System One and System Two!

According to Microsoft, a "clean install" must be done to re-enable it.

Since Microsoft does not provide an easy way to unblock files from Smart App Control, you can use the PowerShell command Unblock-File:

Get-ChildItem -Path "C:\path\to\your\directory" | Unblock-File
Get-ChildItem -Path "C:\path\to\your\directory" -Recurse | Unblock-File

I usually just turn off Smart App Control, but I like to see what it tries to block.

Have you tried right clicking on the file and selecting Unblock in properties.

Some usefull aps are not allowed ( " not safe ") , so with smart app control cant use these aps anymore !
Im using Shadow Defender for years , in 10 and in 11 , never problems and very handy for testing new software , etc. Not allowed with the smart app control , so turned it off............ 🛠️

I ran some tests with both options, the problem was with the Activated option, in this mode this "intelligent" security section enters a radical and extremist paranoid neurotic mode, so it opts at the slightest thing to block your screen, calling the state security services and reporting your own address as belonging to a confirmed positive case of an al-qaeda cyberterrorist.

I'm not kidding, this section is completely out of its mind.

I've been watching Smart App Control for a while to see what it is blocking. All alerts have been for legit software that I use. So basically, Smart App Control should be turned off. Another useless security feature in Windows 11 that basically does nothing.
