Insider KB5124197 Windows 11 Insider Beta (25H2) build 26220.9587 - Oct. 2

 Microsoft Support:

Changes and improvements

[Unicode]

  • We've updated Windows text shaping support for Unicode 17.0, helping Windows correctly display and shape newly encoded characters and scripts. Unicode 17.0 added 4,803 characters, including support for four newly encoded scripts: Beria Erfe, Sidetic, Tai Yo, and Tolong Siki.
  • These updates help keep Windows text support current as the Unicode Standard evolves and improve support for languages and writing systems used by people around the world.

[Settings]

  • We're making performance improvements to the Settings home page, which should result in reduced loading times in certain scenarios.

[Recovery]

  • We're adding a new entry point for Cloud Rebuild under Settings > System > Recovery, making it easier to access the feature from Settings.

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel

  • Updates are based on Windows 11, version 25H2 via an enablement package (Build 26220.9587).
  • The desktop watermark shown at the lower right corner of the desktop is normal for Windows Insider pre-release builds.
  • Features and experiences included in these builds might never get released as we try out different concepts and get feedback. Features might change over time, be removed, or replaced and never get released beyond Windows Insiders. Some of these features and experiences could show up in future Windows releases when they're ready.
  • Some features in active development we preview with Windows Insiders might not be fully localized, and localization will happen over time as features are finalized. As you see issues with localization in your language, report those issues to us via Feedback Hub.
  • Check out Flight Hub for a complete look at what build is in which Insider channel.

I was on 26220.9568, I installed the enablement package that took me to 26300.9568. This beta does not show up. I am still in the Windows Insider Beta. Am I on a different flight now - per the image here, I am still on the 26H2 beta. Not sure what I should be doing to continue to get beta builds - uninstall the recent enablement package?

Thanks Mike. One last question: so if I understand these different flights (never had to get into this lol), latest releases appear to be:
26H2 - via the enablement package. No subsequent beta releases beyond that yet
26H1 - 28020.3742
25H2 - 26220.9587, which came out today

So is my real decision (a) if I want to stay on 25H2 beta, uninstall the enablement package or (b) stay on 26H2 and wait for the next 26H2 beta?

Or is this all wrong lol?

Thanks!

Yrs, 26H2 - via the enablement package. No subsequent beta releases beyond that yet, not for 26H2 Beta at least last 2 updates, if you want to receive them must uninstall it although judging b what's new, no big loss. It looks funny when a Beta has lower build number than release channel nu it is , what it is.
26H1 - 28020.3742, no idea.
So that means need to stay with 25H2 for now but you can activate some changes with Vivo Tool without changing build.

Yup, that's what I had to do. I restored my 25H2 beta backups to update to beta 26220.9587. Apparently we can't go to 26H2 yet on beta. I don't know why it allowed the 26H2 enablement package if it wasn't compatible yet. Anyhow my two beta machines are back on 25H2.

26H2 is not on the Beta channel yet.
R.P and public builds are 26H2 26300.9550, Experimental channel is 26H2 26340.9596.
Beta is still 25H2 26220.9587.
They will probably bump up the build number when 26H2 goes Beta. 🤣😎🤷‍♂️

I didn't think it would be but since an earlier poster had it enable as 26300 with the last beta build number I decided to try it to see what happened and sure enough the enablement package took it to 26H2 with the beta build number. I had backups standing by to restore as I had a feeling it might not update as beta though which was confirmed today so I'm back on 25H2.

Perhaps it will be a separate Enablement package to get to 26320.xxxx. 🤣🤣🤣
