Hi,

My laptop that I got 3 weeks back was perfect, never got warm, fans never ran even on a flat table with multiple apps.

Since the 3 updates, it's starting running warm even in the cold with back lifted 2".

Any suggestions, ideas?

Occured after updates, and opened to check the type of NvMe2 SSD...

Higher elevation, clean install, 2 MS Offices....causes, remedy?

What would you recommend?

Thanks.

Would you recommend a clean install?

Taking to the tech for a check. Opening it's panel to see if the drive was fitted fine?

Thanks.

What does task manager tell you about the load? Do you have some process running rampant? Have you checked the temps to see exactly how hot it's getting? Try using HWMonitor or coretemp and post a screenshot of the temps across the cores. (HWMonitor will give you more info)

My thought,, FWIW.. is get it back to the way it was when you first got it.. when it worked just fine. Then
Don't do a thing to it other than installing the apps you use.

You don't need to constantly tweak and adjust it.. it's working.

I think I lll take it to the shop to see if the SSD fitted fine, and just double check all MB components, heat sink etc.

Than do a clean install, removing left overs from MS Office 2013. And install only 2021.

Thanks anyways.

Why are you installing the OS again for?

To remove MS Off 2013 remnants, and only have MS 2021. Warming issue showed up 10 hrs back.

Just use Revo Uninstaller Free

It's a great way to get rid of what's needed and you don't have to reinstall the OS, again.,

The thing is it was working fine and then well, you went and made changes. At this point I don't know what did to it.. and all I can guess is that the issue is self inflicted.

Again.. just get it working and stop making changes. If it's working you don't need to do a thing to it.

All you need to do is remove Office 2013 and then you are done. Just use it.

Are the fans running continuously at full pelt? Laptops get warm

Continuously but not at full pelt.....slow, quiet. It is the package temp of core i7 that hits 77C than comes down to 42.HW2.png

The processor is really under lots of load. I suspect that's why it's running hot.

What could be the reason?

Thanks.
