You have to think chronologically what you've done. When was it last running OK, what did I do, did the issue start after the last change I made. Only you can do that because we don't know and TBH I'm completely lost at what you've done over the last week-10 days or so as is everybody except you.

Opened to see the SSD slots closed. Clean installed W11 and after that all started..........

Another new Dell laptop with overheat issue, do I return it or keep it?

My 11 year old Dell quit, so daughter bought me a new one. I am not a gamer, so consider that I use the laptop to read and respond to emails, watch the occasional movie or YouTube video, and flip through favorite websites. I'll spend an hour or 3 on the laptop, then let it rest for a while...

@CornishRattler I was going to point him to the same thread. Under no more load that that his temps are WAAAY too hot. No one can ever convince me that hardware can sustain temps like that all the time, especially in a laptop. Instead of messing with it, I'd be shipping it back to Dell before the 30 day return window is up.

It got resolved. Smooth as silk. The culprit was malware hogging task manager. Was running with out MBAM Pro installed. Just hit my mind was using, without it for days, installed and ran it caught 14 which were detected, quarantined and deleted. No more fan, warmth, temp down to near normal stable 36-45 Celsius.

Not really any more than the other major browsers. Just because the adware is there doesn't mean the user has to click on it. You can block a lot of that by installing the uBlock Origin extention which is available in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox.

That stuff isn't built in to Edge. The ads are on the web sites that you visit.

There are browser extensions that can block ads. I use Adblocker Ultimate (free). There are also Privacy settings you can choose, that will help to a degree. You can also clear cookies regularly, which will prevent ads from following you around. (All of the web browsers I've used accept cookies.)

Learning to spot bogus web sites may also be helpful. If you get a window that says that Adobe Flash needs to be updated, don't click on it. If you get a window that says you have visited illegal web sites and McAfee antivirus needs to scan your system, close the window. (I've gotten that off of weather.com. And I don't visit piracy sites.) Good antimalware software, running all the time, may help, but a little caution can go a long way in keeping malware off your system.
