Good afternoon folks, family, and fur babies:

Just wanted to give an update on things in handicapped land . . . Being in the boot for my broken ankles (major imbalance on one side, then the other) and caused my sciatic nerve to get PO'd big time. I was in excruciating pain for over a week when I decided to go to my GP.

I have a prescription for Celebrex and got a shot in my butt yesterday. Musta been steroid because my legs twitched all night and I didn't get much sleep. But the good news is . . . The pain is gone and I can finally walk without screaming!

I am going to try playing pool tonight . . . I have to play or we forfeit, so wish me luck! Hopefully the activity will help to correct the imbalance the boot caused and my sciatic nerve will realize that my legs are the same length again without that blasted boot!

Good luck with the competition tonight. You don't want to forfeit. We had that happen at regionals once. Our 2 didn't show up, and we were kind of top heavy with 5s and 6s.

Thanks for the update. Happy to hear the good news, even though it's not all as good as might be hoped. That Celebrex is potent stuff, so please carefuly read the pharmacist's pamphlet that comes with it. Wishing you the best in the pool games tonight.

Aha! A fellow pool player! I got out of playing; one we didn't expect to show did. For whatever reason, we only had to have three players per team for the playoffs.

The first match was 2 points to 1 and the second match was 3 to 0 both in our team's favor; giving us a 5 to 1. Third man didn't have to play because no way could they catch us so we eliminated that team.

We play tomorrow at noon. Hopefully we'll eliminate another team or two. I think it's probably two eliminations.

My daughter got it for me and got the "what for" from the pharmacist. I also looked it up online and got the real skinny on it. Take with food and drink 8 oz water when I take it. No Ibuprofen or Naproxen while taking it, but I can take Tylenol. Who's gonna need it!?

One day down the hatch and no side effects so far.
