Well, I don't get this, but....

She had a movement after 3 days, because they gave her some meds to loosen her insides. Now the doc tells me she's constipated, the X Ray showed that, but, they're sending her home with a script for some liquid med she has to take 3X a day to loosen the blockage.

I asked can't you keep her here until she's back to 100%? No, they can't justify that.

So I'm not sure what the hell is going to happen when she gets home, she gets admitted with the runs & gets released constipated. WTF?

Didn't people used to leave the hospital only after they were 100% back to normal?????

Good morning, droogies. Town had power failure last night. Entire town was out. Most of the PCs were okay, but for some reason my UPS on the X99 failed to save the day. Might be a while before I get Linux back. Currently on verification. At least I know I'm on Debian 13 so, theoretically, I'll be able to use Dave's start up application there at some point.

It's looking like lightning took out a transformer because there was quite a rosy glow on the horizon just outside of town with a good deal of flickering where no flare stack should be. I was too tired to jump into the SUV and have a look. Reading by a kerosene lamp was more appealing.

98% of my disks is spinners.. i only use SSD's to Linux as Linux really-really sucks on swap/memory-paging.. Om my desktops i run Linux i have the OS on spinners and then i have a 120ish SSD as swap only. But the laptops dont have multiple disk option... or i do have two disks on two laptops.. they have one SSD and one spinner.
Spinners is easier for data recovery and you can abuse them with a lot more writes then an SSD ever can take. :-)

There are plusses and negatives on both sides of the HD/SSD equation. My Linux is on NVMe but Debian "sees" everything and it's waiting for my Windows to pull itself together before it lets me log in. I'll try again once the verification is finished. This system is complex compared to average builds. It runs both soft raid and the real thing. I'm running RAID 0, RAID1 SOFT and RAID 1, RAID 10 on HBA cards.

This system is complex compared to average builds. It runs both soft raid and the real thing. I'm running RAID 0, RAID1 SOFT and RAID 1, RAID 10 on HBA cards.

True.. all has it's pros and cons :-)
I dropped hardware raid for ZFS z1 and z2 when i ditched 2012R2 for Linux.. I have never used raid on my normal machines. :-)

Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
