So I finally managed to make it here. BIOS update on this MAG took a significantly long time for a PC using 128GB of RAM, but I did it. Latest update was just this September. Playing on a PC this new sure reminds me that I'm just an old geezer and I feel pretty clueless. Everything seems so AI oriented.

Yes, I have my coffee. (Gotta have java when you start upgrading a PC.) :coffee::coffee: I'm on my second cup now.
I'm logged in on this AMD abomination and I gotta admit it's pretty zippy.
I haven't felt this inexperienced in a long time.
Afternoon Scannerman. Congratulations.... 🎉

*edit* Anyone know why they call it MAG??
I asked Google....

Thanks, Bree. (I still hate AI.)

MSI talking a whole lot of hype here. I had a heckuvva time trying to find this system board on their site because I thought it was a gaming board. That's not exactly how it is classified on their web site. You will not find this board with the gaming boards but you will find it with their work station boards. So how that satisfies the definition of "MSI Arsenal Gaming" beats me. (But it does explain a few conversations I've had in the past with folks who wanted to know the difference between a gaming system and a work station.) I guess these days it isn't so 'cut and dry'.

For myself, it wouldn't be my choice of board. Daughter seems quite pleased with it though. I have the suite and the chip set installed now (half of it is AI) and it looks as though I'm going to have to change out the fans manually if she wants them to glow red instead of blue. I am compelled however to say that it has the fastest CPU in the house as it can easily peak out @ 4.7 GHz without any tweaking and the only other thing in the house that runs DDR5 RAM is my little OTVOC laptop. Anyway, enough for today. Time to chill.

AI has its uses, but it can make mistakes. I did check out its answers before posting ;)
AI has normalized theft. This is the new normal. It's legal if AI does it.

AI also hallucinates frequently but it's not human so it can get away with anything it does as it cannot be punished and it has no conscience.

If there were ever a case for moral relativism it would be AI.

Not saying your answers are incorrect. In fact they look as though they came directly from MSI.

MSI is well known for their hype. This thing strikes me as a work station board.

Yeah. Not sure what Jim wanted to do with a rig like this. Only game he ever played was Mine Craft. Perhaps that was enough reason. I keep picturing him with that smug grin on his face when he used to test me with his little tricks. He was a bit of a prankster, but it was all in good fun. In some ways I feel like he's testing me again. The girls miss him too.

TBH I think you could just about run anything on it. Myself, I'm biased. I prefer Intel but that's probably because I mostly use Intel stuff. I've repaired many an AMD system in my lifetime but mostly old school stuff. I'm relinquishing putting RAID on that unit. (I'm back on the X99 right now.)

The only thing that got removed was the money from my wallet. Once a "Run Flat" tire has been punctured they can't be reused as run flats.

I recall driving home from dropping off my other daughter at the campus and it was 89 above out (F) when I had a front tire blow out on me on the highway @ 114 km/hr. That was real fun, being out in the middle of nowhere with a flat. Yup. It can get expensive alright.
