Good day everyone.

We survived the time change. It appears in 1974-1975 the US tried permanent Daylight savings and repealed it even before the 16 month test period was completed.

I'm on cable internet. Pay for 500Mbps and get 900Mbps down and 240Mbps up. Generally in my area if you have any issue with telephone copper they will not repair it and force you onto fibre. Our telephone and cable companies offer a complete package, cell, TV, home phone and Internet. You really have to be on your toes or they will over charge you.
Good day Ken (y)

On my second cup. When the weather changes within 10°C (plus or minus) my COPD flares up horrendously and I'm practically chained to my bed.

I never did manage to find that spool of wire I was looking for to make the modification on the build I'm currently working on. I simply have too many bins full of stuff here and not enough organization. I'm going to go with some rubberized wire instead. Crude, but effective. The things we do for love.

Alberta no longer does DST. I had to laugh as my missus still uses Win 10 and her clock offers her "Alberta Time" whilst my Win 11 does not. Had to switch my time to Saskatchewan time instead. This is probably due to my refusal to upgrade to the latest version of Win 11 on this rig. Still I think it's funny how Win 10 can be more advanced than Win 11 in some cases. :zany:

Good morning all you cyber scouts!

From 6 above to 8 below and sure enough I woke up with breathing problems. Now I understand the whole "snowbird" thing but sorry, can't afford that. Even so, God bless USA. (Yup. This is coming from a Canuck.) Managed a little more work on the build. Took a few more pix to be uploaded here > This isn't an ASUS System Board I also took some advice from some of our illustrious members in good standing. So far, so good. :-)

Good morning all.

Mostly cloudy and a high of 11°C/52°F.

A nice morning for a long walk, not that I had any choice in the matter. I'd still have had to do it even if it was pouring down.
I had my Mini booked in to my local bodyshop for a little work on a sill, and had a 2½ mile walk home after dropping it off (4km).

UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

Sorry to hear that, hope you recover soon. Here the lowest I expect to see will be -5°C, and that's probably not until the New Year.

Good Morning Scannerman :-) :coffee:
I will have a look at your thread when i have finished my first cup of coffee I'm working on.. I need to wake up a bit more

Good Afternoon Bree :-) :coffee:
I would never manage to survive that walk.... Next stop ER *LOL* 😅
I hope it will be a smooth job for them and a small bill so you can do other fun stuff with the money :-)
