I decided I'd better stay up for a while.
With the way things have been going for the last two days... who knows what could happen. :D

This nuker is 100w less than my old one. I have to adjust cooking times accordingly.

LOL if the new one makes it to the 1 year warranty... I'll be happy. :cool:


I really liked the old one. It only had 6 buttons (electro-mechanical), and a big turbo speed analog knob.
That knob could go seriously fast. I could turn it to 5:30 faster than I can type 5:30 in with the buttons.
And I didn't have to push cook time either. Just turn the knob to whatever and hit Start.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

When I was in my early teens they didn't have those safety cutoffs, when you opened the microwave door.
I was in a hurry one day, there was like 3 seconds left to go and I couldn't wait.
Opened the door and reached in for my food.... I only did that ONCE! in my life. ^^

I could literally "feel" that starting to boil the inside of my hand.

Later on, when I worked on HV Transmitters... getting zapped with RF (radio frequency) energy, felt a lot like that.
It would leave this teeny white pinhole on your skin, but the inside of your hand started to cook... fast.

Yeah, ya don't wanna mess with microwaves or RF. LOL

There was this huge radar on one of the Aleutian islands, for keeping an eye on Russia.
There was this huge area if front of the radar, blocked by these 10" tall piles of barbed wire.
There was tons of cooked sea gulls in the barbed wire in front of the radar.

I asked one of the Air Force guys (zoomies), why all the barbed wire?
He said if you're in front of that radar when they key it (turn it on), you'd last about as long as those cooked sea gulls.

That radar looked like the U.N. bldg. in NYC.
