Got our storm door ordered. We're just waiting on the call to have them come and install it. This is the storm door we're getting, except ours will have a flat black handle:

I was surprised that the cost because the door, the handle, and delivery and installation was $502. That's about $125 or so less than what I thought it was going to be.

Erin stayed home and I took Violet. Everything went just perfect. Violet didn't fuss in the car, at the vet or when she got the vaccine. I have to take Violet back next week for a booster shot.

Overall, Violet was amazing and so composed. She walked right back into the carrier and was such a lovely little kitty., Her markings are so amazing.

Erin has a great little girl.

Glad to know the cats are set for the night. Our last move before bed every night is to "count cats." But that involves the dog, too, so if there are two cats and one dog settled and fed and watered and (litter boxes) changed, all is well, and the lights can go out. Then the only thing is to wait a bit for the cats to join us in bed, and the dog to join us by settling on the bedside rug.

I do a cat count just to make sure none of them got locked into a closet. Have a nice night and sleep tight.

Well, I woke as per my nightly ritual to makes sure my wife ate by heating up her food. She goes to bed way later than me and eats later as well. This is a night she had to inject her Neupogen, and that leaves her with excruciating bone pain. I don't want her doing any more than she has to on these nights.

Anyway, I thought I'd drop in.

I think I might trade the slots for my two m.2 SSDs this weekend. I have the better drive, my SK Hynix, in the slower PCIe 3.0x4 slot instead of the PCIe 4.0x4 slot. Since it's my boot drive, I thought it might be better to have that in there. My other m.2 SSD, the ADATA XPG, is in that faster slot at the moment. I don't use it for anything other than storing digital movies playing them, which is rare. Too bad my programs drive is the slowest of all, a Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" internal drive. Oh well, I guess I'll make due. Of course, I could clone my Samsung drive, install it on my ADATA XPG drive, and change drive letters using Acronis Drive Copy 15. That should work without having to reinstall software.

Thoughts?
(Of course, this would be a winter break project...)

Sorry to hear that about your wife.. that sucks.

As for the drive.. I've looked into using an m2 vs a Samsung 850 and I came to the conclusion that the Samsung was almost as fast as an m2..
I'll hunt around YouTube for comparison videos for you to watch.

Here's one comparison video and as you can see on that setup it's about 1 sec faster but that will vary from rig setup to rig setup. I've also seen some comparisons where the difference is just a few tenths of a second. In the end it's up to you if you want to upgrade from a SATA SSD or not. With my new ROG motherboard I might do it next year

Thanks for this, Jeff. I'm in a meeting for the next 2 hours, but I'll post more on this after. I have CrystalDisk Mark 7 results for each drive.
