  • Cyberpunk 2077 recommends a minimum of 6GB of video memory. AMD Radeon™ RX 9050 4GB users experiencing issues are recommended to set graphics intensive features to low or off.
  • Intermittent game crash may be observed while playing Starfield on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1.

Forgot to mention that during the examination of why the updates were failing and what the easiest way of fixing it was, I discovered that my laptop bios didn't give me a choice of disabling secure boot and it would reject anything but an MS O.S to boot from. I thought it would be the easiest path just to boot up on a Linux USB drive, resize the EFI partition and be done with the default undersized EFI partition forever but no...... it detected this as an insecure boot device wanting to harm me and my computer so rescued me from the threat by not booting. I once came across a cheapo Acer laptop that I was going to use as a Linux box but it had a bios hardcoded to not allow anything but an MS O.S before so it ended up with a cracked version of Window on it - monkey see, monkey do evil things, but now I also see (as always expected) the evil intent of UEFI and Secure Boot revealing its true intentions under the guise of protecting us from all the evil in the world. Another brick in the wall!

I installed these on the system listed below with no issues so far. The actual installation seemed a bit different with it taking a little bit longer. Perhaps it is doing more checking and validating before updating?

I downloaded 26.6.4 from AMD and installed it. When AMD Adrenalin started up it said I was still on 26.6.2 and that 26.6.4 was available. Adrenalin downoaded that version again and after the second install, it showed that 26.6.4 was installed. I don't think this is normal behavior.

The AMD Radeon 26.7.1 drivers and software are causing driver timeouts on my RX 7900 XTX and I'm not the only one reporting issues online with these drivers. So I've gone back to the May 2026 26.5.1 drivers. Hopefully they'll be more stable.

UPDATE

For the first time in about 9 months, I've managed to get the PRO Edition driver and software package installed with my RX 7900 XTX after AMD for some unknown reason removed a number of consumer level GPU's from the INF files in the setup exe.

The drivers in 26.Q3 are later than those in the July 2026 Radeon drivers release which have an intrusive driver timeout bug.
