Seems reports are coming in that the latest Edge for Windows, iOS & Android messes up the password feature where the entries are just strings of letters & numbers. The solution is to manually sync the passwords or in the case of Apple/Android to uninstall Edge & reinstall.

I discovered why...
this is the "culprit". Flipping it on, obviously, gives you Beta builds. Flipping it off resolves the "issue" (or it should).

Yes, I noted that in my previous post. I'm just bugged because they turn it on without giving you any notice..... Should be "opt in", not "opt out".

How to change the Edge profile picture directly from the Settings page

Microsoft Edge will let you change your profile picture directly from the Settings page without redirecting you to your Microsoft account.

Does it mean (local account) users can upload their custom image as an avatar (Edge profile pic)? Can anybody confirm this?
This feature is available on Canary, and I am on Stable.

You can indeed in Microsoft Edge Canary by clicking on your profile picture in Settings > Profiles. You can also still click on the More Actions (3 dots) button there, and click on Edit to do so.

I mean a local user, not a Microsoft account user (you have to sign out from it to check that out).
Currently, we can set a custom image as an avatar for Edge. But we have limited choice from Edge's default profile images (21 images below). Can we set our custom image (from our hard drive/photos) with no Microsoft account as the Edge avatar?

And I opt-out just a few minutes ago... it updated and sent me from Beta 118.0.2088.27 to Stable 117.0.2045.47 but it seems like a new install because I lost my tabs (good thing it wasn't important) and it basically reinstalled all the extensions as it opened a new tab for each one. So I agree that they should have that option to opt-in for stable but people should have been opted-out by default.

Did this as well.... Had to redo almost every setting and un-Bing all of my search defaults
