Yeah. I've had a few of their motherboards too. An nForce 6xx (?) based one , and an X58 based one (my previous rig). I was sad when I built this AMD Ryzen 9 based rig, at the time eVGA was not making anything by but Intel boards. I was excited when they all of a sudden brought them out last year.

I'm hoping they make more than 2 boards next go around for the AM4 platform. I asked and was told to 'hold tight" basically.

EVGA had the world's best tech support. If you typed in the serial number when asked, you went straight to the highest level tech support they had. People that were well educated, spoke English as a 1st language, and actually "knew" the answers.

Nice, I've only had:

8800GTS (No long have, used with its original bax to step up to the 260 below)
GTX 260 (Still have)
GTX 260 SSC (Still have)
GTX 560 Ti 448 Core (Still have)
GTX 970 (Still have)
RTX 3080 Ti XC3 (In system now)

I still have all those cards. The GTX 580 was an RMA due to a blown fan controller chip. Hence the white box.
Ofc the RTX 2070 is in use.

As soon as I get a new card I used to immediately shove the old one on eBay. Always sold (I have 100% selling). But now. if my son wants the older card for a grandchild, it goes there free.

Just had a thought bearing in mind what seems to be a 'war' with Nvidia.

I am not yet ready to upgrade graphics card, but if I was, what card would you seriously recommend in the 'NOT worth a mortgage' category. My current GTX 3060 ti is very good but time and tide wait for no man (or woman, or ................). If you have multiple recommendations, try 1.2.3 etc. I am eager to see who thinks what is best/better.

I mean, really, an RTX 3060 Ti is not all that bad of a card, but if the prices drop much more, consider jumping up to an RTX 3080 Ti. It's beefier, and you'll need to make sure you have a PSU that will keep up with it - but that will be enough to last through the entire 40x0 line, and up until the generation after that, I'm pretty sure. And if the prices don't fall much more, consider an RTX 3070 Ti instead.

I have the RTX 3080 Ti XC3, but I'm considering watching the prices like a hawk, and if the eVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW gets to a reasonably low price, I might jump on one of those.

4 page thread on this in the eVGA forums. Jacob has posted that they are not going next gen cards (which I assume means neither nVidia nor AMD, and that makes sense, definitely not enough time to design a board for AMD when you don't even have an agreement with them yet), but they are still gonna honor their current stock and warranties.

And the CEO is putting up a good front there according to GN. I wouldn't be surprised if they hash something out for the refresh of AMD cards next year, but I kinda doubt it - they will definitely want more time to develop than a few months.

Well, this is awful. EVGA has been my go to for years, because of their amazing customer service and (mostly) great build quality. If they're dipping out of the GPU game entirely, then I have no idea who to look at for my next upgrade.

I've heard that Asus makes great cards, but that their customer service/RMA is a nightmare. I've heard that MSI cards can be subpar, depending on the silicon. I've had issues with Gigabyte GPUs in the past which has kind of put me off from them.

Financially, it will reduce EVGA’s total revenue, but the company will increase its profits by escaping the margin squeeze from AIBs. Han has said he has no interest in selling the company. Ironically, when the Nvidia RTX 4000 series does come out, it will require many end users and most OEMs to increase the size of their PSUs—and guess who has an answer for “where can I get one?”

It's the truth. And increase in other stuff, with a focus on things like motherboards, PSUs, and accessories can probably keep them afloat as a much smaller company, and they may even be successful at it. We definitely need better PSUs with high quality components to rival Seasonic, that's for sure. And since they just started venturing into the AMD motherboard world, if they can keep it up, it might help overall.

But losing 78% of their revenues (and I'm guessing more like 90% of their workload) may end up being a blessing for them. All we can do is wait and see.

78% revenue, but not profit, the margins are negligible at best for onboard partners, and the worst is, they partners have no idea how much profit until Jensen gets on stage.
