 NVIDIA App

Release Date: April 16, 2026

What's new in NVIDIA App 11.0.7

New Updates:

  • DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation Available Now
    • Update to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. Select “Dynamic” mode to intelligently adjust the number of generated frames during gameplay to a target frame rate to balance frame rate, image quality and responsiveness.
    • New DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation 5X and 6X modes on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs increase 4K frame rates in path-traced titles. Paired with NVIDIA Reflex, they generate additional frames with minimal impact to responsiveness.
    • DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation model update on GeForce RTX 50 Series and GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs enhances in-game user interfaces by incorporating additional engine data available for some games, improving visual quality and clarity of static user interface elements.
    • For optimal image quality and peak performance when using ShadowPlay, the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver is required.
    • Access these DLSS features under Graphics > Program Settings > Driver Settings > DLSS Override - Frame Generation mode
  • Automatic Shader Compilation (Beta)
    • Rebuilds DirectX 12 shaders while your system is idle, reducing the frequency of game runtime compilation after driver updates

Why do you think that basic products have NEW! or New Formula! on their labels even though most of them have been the same for years?

And it doesn't matter what driver version you are on as it's the software apps that are doing it.
Not so sure this is true as I am on 581.94 and the issue is not there.
If I untick the box it stays that way.
Nvidia App is not installed just the driver.

I know it is because I've been using much older Dell factory NVIDIA drivers. Currently just upgraded to 581.83 through Dell and I have the recurring taskbar tray NVIDIA icon for this and the previous driver. However the issue began when both my NVIDIA Control Panel and NVIDIA app upgraded to new versions not long ago.

NVIDIA has arranged for me not to bother with many updates. They recently dropped driver support for 3 of my cards. Only the 30 generation is still getting them. Since I'm not a gamer, it doesn't matter much.

If you have these app versions you will probably have the taskbar tray NVIDIA control panel icon bug.

Like I said I do not install the app.
Never have and never will as all you really need is the driver.

Nvidia App is not installed just the driver.

I have this version of the control panel with no tray issue so perhaps the issue is if you install the Nvidia app which to me is a not needed app.

I should mention my older machine with a RTX 2060 card isn't effected by this bug but the one with the newer RTX 5080 is. The only reason I like the control panel is for the Dynamic Display Mode Icon for easy on the fly switching and to quickly check the graphics mode status. It's just a convenance but I like it. That's the only reason I leave it enabled.

You may have a point. I tried disabling the switch via the app but that disables the switch I want to keep not the control panel switch. The app also seems to link itself to the control panel so I may try removing it altogether.

have this version of the control panel with no tray issue so perhaps the issue is if you install the Nvidia app which to me is a not needed app.
So just removed the NVIDIA app with Revo Uninstaller, reinstated my NVIDIA Dynamic Display Mode tray icon from control panel and waiting to see if the control panel notification tray icon shows back up on its own. So far so good. 🤞🏽

lol...

... still the same.

But, at least I still don't get the tray icon.

It doesn't seem to affect the operation of the driver itself but... back to the earlier driver I go (2 versions back - thank you again Macrium).

I don't do any gaming so perhaps I shouldn't bother updating anymore? And, I'm sure most of the 'security issues' for these drivers are overhyped anyway - like most security issues (in my opinion).

Just install it if there is a fix that will help solve things. (Mostly games) (I am getting simple of all those 50 Series fixes. A card I never would buy)

Saw the update and downloaded the complete WHQL version. (I like to have the previous version along with the new one. In case something is wrong I can revert to the previous one) I installed it and to my surprise; during the normal black screen (flickering) after that I got snow on my monitor (like on a TV) and it went black. Just waited a while until the installation was finished. Press reset and everything was fine. Reinstalled it again and this time no snow. Odd....
Just have a normal RTX3060TI. Not overclocked in anyway. Worked fine after that. Have no issues with the control panel, App. etc.

This hot fix DID fix the icon in the tray problem.
I did a restart, and tried a couple of programs that need user account control(run as admin) and no sign of it.
