  • DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation Available Now
    • Update to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. Select “Dynamic” mode to intelligently adjust the number of generated frames during gameplay to a target frame rate to balance frame rate, image quality and responsiveness.
    • New DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation 5X and 6X modes on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs increase 4K frame rates in path-traced titles. Paired with NVIDIA Reflex, they generate additional frames with minimal impact to responsiveness.
    • DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation model update on GeForce RTX 50 Series and GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs enhances in-game user interfaces by incorporating additional engine data available for some games, improving visual quality and clarity of static user interface elements.
    • For optimal image quality and peak performance when using ShadowPlay, the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver is required.

Hmm, I haven't tried DDU yet for prepping to install these new drivers. Later on, tonight or in the morning, I'll report back.

Update: NVIDIA has acknowledged there is a problem with installation failure on some 3060ti cards. So, it's a pass for me.

I installed the latest using a clean install from the nVidia installer, and it required a reboot.

Sadly, though, it hasn't addressed the elephant in the room, namely the poor performance of Windows 11 22H2 when gaming. I still get massive amounts of random choppy lag when playing games like GRID: Legends and Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K.

Yes, I know about the things you can do in Windows to help alleviate some of the gaming issues, but I was testing with all of those mitigations reverted to default settings to see if the driver fixed the Windows issue - even if Microsoft has admitted the issue exists, they have done jack all in terms of finding a real fix, other than using Windows 10 / Windows 11 21H2 as your gaming OS.

I'm not sure what is going on with Nvidia drivers lately. I spent the day tuning my PC and video card and running benchmarks, and it seems that the more recent video drivers are making 2D performance even worse as they are released. I have noticed a distinct drop in 2D performance over the past couple of versions, but the 3D performance is going up. I'm using Passmark 10.2 and the 2D performance is now less than pathetic yet my 3D scores are higher than ever before.

Not that it really matters for 2D as it's mostly Windows stuff, and the improved 3D performance is nice, but I would have expected a performance increase across the board. Of course, these are the nitwits that had my idle GPU running at 100% for no reason at all...
