I know I was just informing people so we do not have multiple posts that they installed the latest driver and lost the control panel.
Even though it will still be on the store it will not have the latest updates or features as that is now going to the Nvidia app only.
What will be on the store is going to get further and further behind as time goes on.

When I DDU the drivers I'll untick the box to remove the control panel so it stays for now

I was expecting this once they bifurcated important settings. The main example being DLSS which you could control via the APP and not the NVCP.

You have the latest version. I really don't mind the app now. It is better than it was when it was first released. The UI is still a funky mess though. I just need to get used to having the jump around several pages instead of all the important settings in one place Globally, then per application.

I just found you can clean install or clean drivers with DDU and install control panel as it is still in the driver install package.
No need to download from the Microsoft Store.

Open the installer with Winrar, 7-zip or whatever extractor you use.

Open the Display.Driver folder.

Now you will see the NVCPL folder and you want to extract that.

Click on the 7e010d7e2de54a439dbd340dd1f61212.appx file and the control panel will install.

Early this morning I installed, (clean install) the newest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Studio Driver, (610.47) for my Dell machine (System One). A clean install will automaticly uninstall the NVIDIA Control Panel and install the latest NVIDIA App. I got 11.0.7.247.

All went will so far.

Ah, good to know, I'm on latest app but still use the Dell NVIDIA driver so I still currently have the control panel as well which I like for one feature I lose without it.

You know, and I am just suspecting here, I have no proof whatsoever, but I think that the Control Panel was "maybe" part of the problem(s) on my machine. I have been using NVIDIA Cards since something like 1995 and have always had the control panel and liked it.

But on my new Dell (June 2025) I was having nagging display issues from day one that I never use to have with my other computers. Although that could certainly be something other than the control panel, (that came to me from the Microsoft Store). I just wanted to take that out of the equation. Finally, yesterday, I said the heck with the Dell NVIDIA update(s). I went to NVIDIA and downloaded their newest (Studio) driver and did a clean installation for just the display driver and the NVIDIA app - I do not need the other stuff as I no longer do any gaming, (Flight Simulator) these days.

Everything seems better now, although this is just one day in. I going to give this a go and if it performs as it does now, I may not use the control panel any longer, I don't know... I am happy with the way things are today.

I had a look at nVidia App yesterday, they have added a lot of functions previously unavailable, but I cannot tell if anything is missing compared to the "traditional" nVidia Control Panel. Even if nothing is missing, so many years we are familiar with the settings we use regularly and where to find them, so it is not convenient to search for them every time in nVidia App. For the time being I will keep both, until I familiarize with nVidia App and make sure 100% everything is included, nothing missing. I don't care if nVidia Control Panel won't be updated. I am not going to see any new features for my RTX 3050 anyway. I might concern in a few years if I ever change to a newer card. Until then I will just keep using the latest nVidia Control Panel. Compare "traditional" Windows Control Panel vs Windows Settings app. Of course I am familiar with most functions after all these years, but some things are still more convenient and easier to do using the "traditional" Windows Control Panel. Thanks to Winaero Tweaker we can restore some old functionality removed from the Windows Control Panel.

    Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, no SSE4.2, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.
