I updated to version 9, the GUI is black/dark which I don't like. I looked in the options but there's no white GUI or lighter color option.:(

Same here. Also, in my case fonts were too small, and temperatures were not shown, or shown in F, although they were configured in C. I uninstalled it.

I only have the black GUI problem. The temperatures are in Celsius, which is fine. However, compared to the previous version of the app, the new one doesn't have the same main page for my Samsung 990 Pro and the Samsung T9 Portable. To get the same main page, I have to click on "Show all widgets" and then add the widgets for temperatures, etc., for my T9 Portable's NVMe SSD.

Edit: No excessively small font.

Not impressed with new GUI overall, plus now you have to scroll down to see full page, with no way to resize it to eliminate that

I have it installed only to do occasional checks on the drives or update firmware

The Magician service is set to Manual so it only runs when I open the software.
I stop the service after I've used it.

Also disabled CMigration service as this is only needed to use the Samsung migration feature

It takes up less than one thousandth of a percent of the physical RAM that you have installed in your computer. The wear on your mouse button switch caused by disabling the service was probably the bigger sacrifice (but maybe not if it makes you feel better, lol).

I loaded Samsung Magician and found the same update for my 990 PRO 4TB NVMe SSD..
nice but it would be nice if they included a change log with it..
I really want to know what they fixed or improved on.

Thanks to emilcioran99 who mentioned there was a firmware update for Samsung 990 Pro drives, Since most of my drives are installed in 3rd party UGreen enclosures and Samsung Magician cannot update the firmware, detect serial # or perform most functions when the drive is in a 3rd party enclosure I had to use an alternate method to check for updates and update the firmware.

Since I am dual booting and using an ASUS M.2 NVME card I took one drive out of the M.2 card and then replaced with the drive from the 3rd party external enclosure and booted back into windows after which Samsung Magician could detect the drive and update the firmware. A spare M.2 slot on the motherboard would also work for this purpose.

I had to check 9 Samsung drives using this method and 5 Samsung 990 Pros needed a firmware update.

Using the same Samsung drive for comparison the image on the left was taken while the drive was in a 3rd party enclosure and not detected by Samsung Magician and the image on the right was taken when the drive was installed in an M.2 card or spare M.2 slot on the motherboard after which I could update the firmware.

I have a 4TB Pro 990 as well, shows the same, no new firmware. There is also no new firmware shown on the Samsung site

is the Samsung Magician Service running on your PC?
and is both the 1TB and 4TB NVMe SSDs attached to M.2 slots on the motherboard or are they in an enclosure like USB or NAS?

I got the update today on the 2TB model, but it's still not on Samsung support site
I don't think it matters what storage the drive has, they all use the same firmware

Guys, just look here Samsung SSD firmware and expand the 990 entry, you'll see 7B2QJXD7 was released in September 2025. My 1TB 990 Pro is running it as well.
