The one I used was just an impulse purchase when I saw it at dollarama store. It is one of those novelty toys when you press will make a sound. This one talks and says "NO!". I just put a red tape on top of the word "NO!" and wired it to my daughter's PC and disengaged the "talking circuitry".

Maybe a foot switch. That way you could snap your fingers and point at the PC and it would come on. :D

The mechanics for this voice command PC power switch is simple.

Instead of a regular push button switch, I connected a relay switch like this:

It is triggered by a power source which is just an ordinary 5v USB phone changer plugged into one of those smart outlets that you can control with Google Assistant or Alexa via custom routine commands. :cool:
