I'm assuming you did a "clean install". I've clean installed Windows 11 on numerous incompatible computers (without having to jump through any hoops) and it has worked every time.

Just Look at my Clean but added the hack to allow any PC to install WiN11 LINK

All I did was create USB with RuFus then extracted and used IMGBURN to created a bootable IMAGE

I use Rufus also, but did nothing but the normal installation instructions.

Results using Intel Software Development Emulator to install 24H2 on unsupported PC: FAILED

In an earlier post I said that Intel's SDE can emulate missing instructions, such as SSE4.2, for older Intel CPUs for programming purposes. I tried to use it in order to install Windows 11 24H2 on a virtual machine on a PC without SSE4.2 support (my test laptop, see 1st system specs), and didn't work. Maybe this works only for simple applications, but not for an advanced application like a virtual machine. I installed the last version of Oracle's VirtualBox 4.11, created a Windows 11 virtual machine and opened the Windows 11 24H2 ISO to start Setup. I tried difference settings, such as UEFI firmware with TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, Legacy BIOS without TPM, nothing works. It displays the Windows logo for several seconds and then an error message that something happened and the virtual machine hanged. Similar to trying to boot 24H2 on an unsupported computer which shows only the logo and freezes. I tried to load both the main application virtualbox.exe and the VM loader virtualboxVM.exe, nothing. SDE allows for various architecture emulations. I used the Haswell (4th generation), didn't work. I also used the "future Intel CPU" with all the instruction sets enabled, again nothing. So unless someone knows better, it is not possible to install 24H2 by emulating SSE4.2 using Intel's SDE. The performance is very low any way to make it worth it.

The latest version of win 11 iso will block install on incompatable machines. My work around was to get an earlier version of win 11 iso at least a year old make a bootable use stick with "Rufus" and i had no problems with install through setup.exe. for an upgrade without loss of my data. and also bootable clean installs on several pc's ranging on processors 3rd and forth generation . Also 4 core processors are most suitable.

If you already run 24H2 on an unsupported computer, to upgrade to 25H2 is as easy as downloading the 25H2 Enablement Package which switches version in a few seconds WITHOUT checking compatibility. So, if we cannot clean install Windows 11 25H2 because of any blocks, no big deal, just install 24H2 first and then install the 25H2 Enablement Package to switch the version. Also we can create a hybrid 23H2/25H2 USB flash drive. This is a standard Windows 11 23H2 USB flash drive with the install.wim file replaced from the 25H2 ISO. So we use 23H2 Setup to install 25H2 bypassing all restrictions of higher Setup versions. In Greek we say "The Good Guy knows another path" (so he has an alternative when he faces difficulties on the main path).

I think at worst that's very much a YMMV situation. In particular, I successfully upgraded a Windows 10 system to Windows 11 24H2 not even two weeks ago, which I documented in the other, earlier thread with the same title on this same board and thousands more posts that is also pinned:

I think these are just rumors. Since every unsupported PC that already runs 24H2 can be upgraded to 25H2 using the 25H2 Enablement Package without checking compatibility, it makes no sense to block clean installation. Probably the Insider's versions have more restrictions, but we are about to find out if this is also true for the standard release in October (aka ga - general availability version). If that happens, there are workarounds for a clean installation, see my previous post.

Since every unsupported PC that already runs 24H2 can be upgraded to 25H2 using the 25H2 Enablement Package without checking compatibility, it makes no sense to block clean installation. Probably the Insider's versions have more restrictions, but we are about to find out if this is also true for the standard release in October (aka ga - general availability version). If that happens, there are workarounds for a clean installation, see my previous post.

I was responding to "The latest version of win 11 iso will block install on incompatable machines." The "latest version" is 24H2. In addition, "My work around was to get an earlier version of win 11 iso at least a year old" implies a version prior to 24H2. I don't see the relevance of 25H2 to this.

Even better. 24H2 can be installed on all 64-bit systems with 1st generation Intel Core-i3 or higher CPU or equivalent AMD by simply bypassing compatibility check. User Rufus for easiest method. If you bypass compatibility check you can install it on a totally unsupported configuration, such as mine (unsupported CPU with SSE4.2 instructions, UEFI and Secure Boot disabled, no TPM).

PS: For 24H2 the replacing of a certain file from Setup cache doesn't work anymore to upgrade from earlier versions. (this is the new block). However, the Rufus method still works, plus running Setup like this below for us that use the ISO without Rufus:

setup /product server

This parameter tricks Setup it is installing a Windows Server version and doesn't check compatibility. Just make sure you type it correctly from a Command Prompt with Administrator rights. Also make sure you stay disconnected from the internet during the upgrade otherwise it might fail because of a hidden online compatibility check or just because Windows Update messing with your working drivers. Yes, there is a setting to disable Windows Update during installation, but I don't trust it.

hello i have 2nd gen i7 hp pavillon i did upgrade ram and ssd. my computer runs windows 11 so smooth, thing is i was in vacation and wasnt at home for 3 months, now i opened pc and there a lot of updates, i afraid and paused windows update. i want to ask is there any problem updating last updates for unsupported pcs?

No problem at all. Installing updates doesn't check compatibility, so your computer is not going to be blocked or something. Having said that, some updates might have known bugs which also affect Windows 11 compliant PCs. You can read about these updates and if they have any bugs at the News section of this forum and at respective threads if any poster has reported any bugs. I have installed them all, including optional cumulative updates, and I am currently on build 26100.5074 on my 3rd generation Core-i7 unsupported computer (see 2nd system specs) without any issues. A few days ago I noticed File Explorer automatically closing any open File Explorer windows after a few seconds. This was some temporary bug, probably because I also use Explorer Patcher customization utility. As soon as I restarted the bug never appeared gain. Also my computer was crashing because for some reason it could not create the folder C:\Windows\System32\SRU. It was some security settings bug, I followed some troubleshooting steps online (including manually creating the SRU folder) and it's gone. Don't worry, install all the updates, if there is any bug we will be glad to help you solve it. What out unsupported computers are not offered via Windows Update are upgrading to a newer version. So to upgrade from 24H2 to 25H2 we are not going to be offered the 25H2 Enablement Package. We will have to manually download it from Microsoft Update Catalog or from the respective thread in this forum when available. Good news is that it will not check compatibility so we can download and install it to switch our unsupported computers from 24H2 to 25H2 in a few seconds, rather than using the ISO and doing a full upgrade.

thank you, i don't understand why windows 11 not supported on powerful pcs, my laptop able to run windows 11 so smooth, opening in 20 seconds, no crash no lag, no issue. its absurd putting 240 million PCs into trash, its absurd getting forced to buy new one even tho yours is more than enough for daily usage.
