Link on desktop of an app

I wish to have an icon on the desktop regarding an app...I did it but the icon changed in a white icon after the reboot..is it possible to fix this problem?

Usually if you just drag the app's icon from the All apps list to the desktop the icon stays even after a reboot.

Have you tried right clicking on the icon and choosing Properties? There should be an option to to change the icon.

thank you for the answers..let me explain better..for example..the app whatsup..make the link to the desktop...after rename whatup link in whatsup and until I don't restart is good..after restart the icon is still on the desktop but is white...right switch, change the icon but the list of the icons is the windows list not the whatsup or another program....and I don't understand what is the different between an app and a program...unfortunately whatsup is downloading only as app..not as program
