I had issues with dexpot in windows 10 and it is not supported since 2016, so dropped it. I really like that software though,

Yeah regrettably, I think you are right. Original press releases were ambiguous but reading the notes for latest dev telease, I think you are right.

Until we have customised icons as you say, then MS have missed a major opportunity like tabs in file explorer.

Also, I am struggling to login now as we do not have the blurred login screen, giving me the visual acuity to locate the login bar anymore.

Can we keep this thread on topic, please? There are 50+ threads with complaints about things not working / broken / not to users' liking.

I'd like this one to be focused on new, positive things found in the OS without the same stuff from others threads, if at all possible. At least one thread without the incessant complaining would be nice.

I was not complaining - getting rid of the stupid blurred login screen is a real gem as far as I am concerned.

Those views were all there in Windows 10 except the three new driver views I mentioned.

I like the rounded corners, but they dont look so good on the older apps like event viewer and it's ilk. Those apps desperately need modernising.

Lol yeah. Pretty much anything from the MSC looks bad with them, almost like a pre-XP look.....with rounded corners.

but still an improvement overall, even if it is 2 steps forward and 1 backward lol.

You could right click Start and select those items.
EDIT: NM, you wanted instant access to those 3 items.

Not sure if this is a windows 11 or was in 10 as well. When I use the snipping tool, when I go to save the capture, instead of capture.jpg, it creates a unique name including the date. Like I never tried the new snip and sketch - maybe this was already available in windows 10.

I've mostly given up using the applications. I now do shift-Windows-s. The result goes to the clipboard.

It was present in 10 as well.

3) Also when right-clicking a file the option to "copy as path" is now right there. In Win 10 you had to hold SHIFT while right-clicking to see this option. I suspect that I use this more than many people do (probably a hundred times a day) so this is especially welcome.

In my case, the File Explorer reverted to the Windows 10 one. I don't know what did I do to cause that. I actually read a number of posts where people where asking how to do just that. It appears I did it, but I don't know how and I would like it to go back.

I've read at least 3 different articles that say it is the same as Win10 - never once mentioning the completely changed nature of the context menu in Explorer, nor the complete lack of a context menu on the taskbar, as just 2 examples.

I don't trust very many so-called blogs online, because in the rush to be first they spend too little time evaluating and too much time trying to get content out the door.

I've also found that, I somehow enabled separate wallpapers for multiple monitors (it did not work for me the first week). I was playing around earlier today, and decided to try out the Sunrise theme. Well, with that being a light-background theme, I opted to changed everything back - but in the process of picking a WP, it was only applied to my large monitor.

I can now pick separate WPs for each monitor again, thank goodness. Displaying 1080p WPs on a 4K screen is almost as bad as trying to display a 4K WP on a 1080p screen and watching it tile off the screen surface lol.

If this works for everyone else, my apologies, but it was not working for me - until I played with the themes just about an hour ago.
