- I am logged into my machine using a Microsoft account. NAME@gmail.com
- I have activated Settings/Accounts / Sign in with a local account instead/ [Next]
- Windows Security window is asking me for a PIN associated, not with the account I’m signed in under,
but a totally different Microsoft Account of mine. DIFACCT@hotmail.com - I have been able to get to DIFACCT@hotmail.com, even able to change its password. But there seems to be no way to assign it a PIN!
It seems Microsoft has managed to confuse one Microsoft Account (NAME@gmail.com) with another (DIFACCT@hotmail.com) so badly that I’m in a terrible bind.
How can I assign DIFACCT@hotmail.com a PIN so that I can complete my “Sign in with a local account”
- Note: I cannot resort to using the “I forgot my PIN” because engaging that link puts me into a situation where I’m forced to change the PIN associated with NAME@gmail.com
