Windows 11 Pro 25H2
I just updated Macrium to the latest Macrium X version. When finished I decided to go ahead and make a system image. When I clicked on finish this popped up. Anyone know why? The destination drive is larger than the source drive so it's not because of the drive not having enough free space. I went ahead and made the image and it verified successfully.

As glasskuter says, you probably have something needed on another drive. You could try clicking on 'Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows' to see what Macrium thinks you need to include.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Except for the hidden 16.0 MB partition, Disk Management shows exactly what Macrium is showing in my screen shot. My 24H2 builds was a clean install with all other drives disconnected. Here is a screenshot of EasyBCD that shows the BCD is on my C: Drive. Win 11 doesn't show a drive letter because I have it hidden in 24H2 so that I can't accidently write to it.

I'm going to do a system restore to see if it works. If it does I'll consider it is because I do have a dual boot setup even though both installs were done without any other drives being attached and mark this thread as solved.

@Winuser To clarify, in UEFI systems, the file is called winload. efi and the file should always be located at C: \windows\system32. This reflects in your disk management.

What EasyBCD is showing is that the partition is on the same drive as the C: partition so I don't understand why the confusing. If there's something I'm missing I'm all ears. I'm dual booting from two separate drives. Each install was done with only the drives needed for the install so they're independent of each other. I can remove any one of the boot drives and still boot into what ever version of Windows is on the drive that is connected. My 24H2 restore worked so I'm marking this thread as solved.

It is showing you some of the entries in the bcd store . It is not showing you the location of the bcd store.

Put a dot in the detailed tab and presumably it will reveal more. I expect that will reveal the location of boot manager ( typically BOOTMGFW.EFI ) which must be the same partition bcd store is on.

As shown in my EasyBCD screenshot that's exactly were it's at. Because my image restore of 24H2 worked I'm guessing that the warning is because Macrium is seeing both Window versions even though I have the other OS drive hidden in Disk Management.

I looked in the EFI partition of my 24H2 drive using Mintool Partition Wizard and BOOTMGFW.EFI is located in EFI/Microsoft/Boot. Because my 24H2 restore worked, I'm going to assume that the reason I got the warning in Macrium is because the partitions needed to boot into my Canary build was not included.

I was able to successfully boot into My Windows Canary build after restoring my 24H2 build so everything is working as it should.
