Since the latest Mail app update there are no mail alerts when the app is closed, which defeates its purpose. Stacked mail alerts also usually pop up after booting up my PC and logging into Windows but this doesn't happen anymore.
Sometimes it does work but it takes very long for the mail alert to pop up judging from the fact that other devices already notified me about the mail a long time ago.

The moment I launch the Mail app, all the mail alerts pop up in the right lower corner.
This is only the case for my Outlook account in the Mail app, my Gmail account in the Mail app does not show this issue.
I've tried deleting/reinstalling the app, resetting and double checking the settings and permissions.

Mail app version 16005.14326.21508.0

Anyone else noticed this?

I don't get the issue with Hotmail. It was merged with an Outlook account many years ago when MS was supposedly abandoning Hotmail but never did.

There are some minor issues with some other Accounts, feedback has been sent to MS, only a useless answer a year ago, after more feedback nothing.

However this is all academic as the Mail App is apparently being replaced by a new Outlook App in 2024.

Yes. I get exactly the same symptoms as yours with Yahoo and Mail App. Started happening when I used my laptop and mobile phone more often, then I had a laptop, a mobile phone and desktop syncing my email account at the same time. I assumed it did not like the additional syncing, but I may be wrong. The issue only happened with my laptop on windows 10 or 11. Never happened with my desktop or mobile Yahoo app. I decided to get rid of Mail App, then there are no issues.

Apparently Hotmail has been having some issues. I was getting an error on Outlook on one of my machines but the other connected just fine. Two days ago the issue resolved itself.

Sorry I actually meant my Outlook account. It used to work fine until after a certain latest Windows update.

I don't get any errors. It's just the syncing issue with my Outlook account in the Mail app.

I have reinstalled the Mail app several times in the meantime and it's still not fixed.

How hard is it for a mail app to actually serve its purpose and alert for incoming mails without having to open the app itself?
