Solved Make Downloads a library?

With downloads pinned in Quick Access in File Explorer, I find it a PITA to have to double click to drill down into the directory structure I have set up for downloads. Would much prefer the single click to expand the tree in the navigation pane using the ">" arrow for libraries.

Probably a colossally dumb question, but is there any quirk/downside/issue that would result from creating a new library called "Downloads" and adding the download folder to it as the only target? (Allowing me to unpin Downloads from Quick Access).

Change the default option from Quick Access to Home**. Restart File Explorer

**Elipsis symbol > Options > Open File Explorer to (pull down menu)

Ah. I did it and remembered what I didn't like about it. It creates the new library and it is indeed expandable. But it kicks off the bug in File Explorer that causes additional unwanted horizontal divider lines. Oh well...

Not so sure I agree with the idea of using the Downloads folder as a (permanent?) storage area that requires a directory structure. Bit like some users who use the Recycle Bin as a storage location.

I'm in agreement here. To me, the downloads folder is just temporary. If a file in my downloads folder is something I want to keep, I'll move it to an appropriate folder, whether it is an app, document, etc. Stuff I don't want or need gets deleted.
