OS
Windows11
I should start with just a couple:

1. I prefer English but have chosen Portuguese and English in that order for the keyboard, I write a lot in Portuguese with all the different accents only to find that the system changes back to English and I have to start again, This actually happens even when I am not writing, A box open in the bottom right hand side showing the wrong configurarion and until I click on it, nothing works in the net surfing or anything else I want to do on screen

2, Various sites, that work fine, after a while keep opening new tabs (like this very one) rather than just changing pages.

Both these problems only happen after using the page changing after a short while, Sometimes they are ok

Help!!!

Thank you

You should reply here, in the topic, not to your received post (and not via Private message as you did to me before).
The only purpose of those mails is to warn you that an answer was posted in the topic.
So please post your answer here, like you posted the answer #4.

But you can open Task Manager and use End Task of it but only for the duration until the next reboot/startup.

Every browser handles links differently by default. I do not use Chrome, but I believe you should be able to use the universal right click context menu method with links and choose how you want the link to open,...same window or new tab.
If you want a browser where your can set how you want links to open, try Firefox.

Where do I get the System Information that you asked me to send you?
Partly they come from system specs your supplier provided you, partly you could find them in the Windows Settings, System, Info.

My system specs are:

The system specs you specified:

Below that there should be a button:

Clicking that (below any of your answers) you come to a page where you can add specs of your system.

For your problem with your browser I have no explanation as I don't use Chrome.
But I saw other member gave you some suggestions.
I use Firefox as well and never have problems opening websites in tabs (unless I deliberately choose to open a link in a new tab by using CTRL click).

Hi

I did as you instructed, saved but I think the further details did not arrive at my opening post.

Or am I supposed to fill it by hand?

Yes, you are.

But help has to come from other members (I would not know a solution myself).
I don't use Google Chrome. Firefox is my favorite browser and have disabled tabs for new browser windows as described by @glasskuter .

And for the language problem I don't have an answer as well, because my system is in NL language only, disabled all other languages including English. For me no button on the taskbar or in the system tray to switch over between languages.

Hi
My apologies for having disappeared. I have been trying to find solutions.

At least, I have some information: of the 3 problems, 2 at least seem to be connected. The opening of new pages when it shoul not and thezooming out (to bigger) happen together when, but not always, when I use the wheel of the mouse. If I close the extra pages and reset the zoom to 100% AND refresh (F5) the problem disppears for a few minutes... then returns

After this I can play with the wheel and all seems fine, but soon enough the problem returns. Because I can press the wheel and rotate it after the F5 I assume that the problem has nothing to do with the mouse

just in case you are not aware, if you are holding the Control key (Ctrl) on your keyboard whilst you use the scroll wheel, your page will zoom.

If you have two languages by default the language that appears first in the list is the initial input method. In the screenshot I see English on top of the list, that's why it is always the first input method. Just make Portuguese first (move up) and you should be OK. Also I see you haven't chosen Region and Regional format, you may want to change these to Portuguese as well. Here in Greece we have the opposite problem when using the Greek version of Windows. Greek comes first and English second, so we have to switch input method every time we need to type a password or anything else with Latin letters. We can override the default order, go to Settings, Time & Language, Language & Region, Related Settings -> Typing, Advanced Keyboard Settings and select the language you want default (for typing only, not for display). This way you can have English display with Portuguese default or vice versa, much like we have Greek display with English default. Also you can switch languages with the good old combination ALT+SHIFT, and with WIN+SPACE. This is very convenient if you have a Mac since you are used to this combination.
