    I use this computer for photo/video editing and to track severe weather
I bet if you install latest W11 in Hyper-V on an unsupported PC, then create native boot entry on vhdx file, it will work.
If it doesm you could clone the vhdx file to native host.

When I get some time, I will try that on my old laptop.

There's debate in the technical community whether it's a deliberate attempt to block old HW, or the Canary build is compiled with newer CPU instructions to take advantage of better performance. If the latter, then it's effectively blocking older PC's but for the purpose of making Windows run faster.

MS is famous for backwards compatibility, but where do you draw the line? How far do you carry old PCs?

Poor form from him using an unrelated website for information on a Youtube channel and not referencing the website. The site page he shows and mentions at the beginning showing the info was posted way back in July this year.
This as far as I understand it is for insider previews only and hasn’t yet hit the public release? @hsehestedt mentioned this on Sunday, but mentions /product server
This guy also mentions Rufus was blocked, I’ve used Rufus since July and nothing is wrong with it. This info is old. I’m relying on you guys that know what you’re doing and use the insiders to hint to what may or may not happen.

We live in hope Mate. It won’t be nice if/when Microsoft disables our ability to run Win 11 on unsupported hardware. Especially after having used it, are used to using it, have programs etc that are established in it. Like I said, I have trust that the insider users here (more than I trust external sources) and Brink, will alert us to anything that may be creeping in or about to happen.

The only unspported hardware I have, according to MS is my Ryzen 7 1800X CPU

I also did that, but then read what @garlin said above. But I also downloaded an ISO and made a USB from this info here. That ISO file is marked as 23H2.

Many here have already installed 23H2 to unsupported machines myself included. Considering Win 11 has been out for two years now and major new features are not likely forthcoming, Microsoft will probably not cutoff older systems now. Further, there are reports that Win 12 or whatever it will be named, will possibly be released a year from now and Microsoft could then end support for older processors (we can hope not more chips, such as Gen 8, 9, etc.) particularly if many features are tied to new chips that handle AI that older chips will not.

Microsoft will do what it does, but I don't see the older chips being cutoff at this point.
