StartAllBack is compatible as is Explorer Patcher, even in 24h2. Absolutely no problems, nothing, zilch.
You are being subjected to scare/bully tactics by MS. That is usually the case, when you get information from "one and only" / "the official" source and never investigate.
Pretty much a 100% of modern beliefs are intentionally built upon the premise one would NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES QUESTION, the official narrative.
The crude reality starts the moment, and often by mistake, one asks a question and performs the due research. Boy, oh boy what is expecting you on the other side!
But yeah, a solid 99.99999% would never make that step, cause it is quiet, calm and easygoing in the darkness. That is..... until the final building block has been placed by the rulers. Than it is going to be a lot of cry babies around - but yet the least of worries at that particular moment!

I fell about laughing when I read this nonsense. MS can change whatever they like. They have no obligation to ensure EVERY 3RD PARTY app is not affected. We are talking about 1 in 1000s.

It is a totally ridiculous expectation that MS should ensure every 3rd Party App is unaffected. Even they could not afford to do that.

Have you never heard of the principle of ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) where a change is demonstrated to be as risk free as can be REASONABLY expected. It is UNREASONABLE to totally eliminate risk from a change.

Nope. Windows is developed by Microsoft and it's up to third party developers to keep their apps updated to work correctly with Windows. I'm not entirely sure how it's done, but I know that most legitimate (by working within the confines of Microsoft requirements) third party developers are given the necessary code to get their apps to work properly.

What Microsoft does want is for no one to change anything that in their mind would be detrimental or harm the core of Windows. The Secure Boot and The TPM and Defender Smart app are present due to the past hacking or cracking of Windows 7. I am having very few issues with it since leaving the IP.

Yup, that is the blueprint of the NWO. It is expected for 999 out of 1000 to comply with the steps preset in the blueprint, especially when placed under uncertainty and chaos. Speaking of the NWO, Microsoft let the developer of EP know removing old legacy code from the Windows taskbar was the reason for Explorer crashing in Windows.

Like it or lump it. Your empty words of rebellion and dissent are meaningless. Put your money where your mouth is; “Don’t use Windows” But you will use Windows, which is what makes what you’ve been ranting on about in all these posts, ridiculously boring, perhaps slightly amusing… IMO.

If you actually did stop using Windows and moved to another platform like Linux or something, you’d have my total respect for taking a stand.

Found the following when checking the announcement of Start11 v 2.07 -

"Later this year, Microsoft will be releasing as significant update to Windows 11 that is referred to as 24H2 and as part of this release, it looks like Microsoft will be removing legacy code from the OS. The removal of this code is impacting any Windows 11 application that leveraged this functionality but Start11 and Start11 v2 are not impacted."

which could explain why certain apps will not work on 24H2.

Microsoft has expanded the list of blocked programs.
So far this includes ExplorerPatcher and StartAllBack.
Both small tools to bring the old taskbar or the old Windows 10 start menu back to light, among other things.

If you want to install one of the two programs after installing it, you will receive a warning.
This is not the first time that Microsoft has specifically added programs to a block list.
This is probably because Microsoft will also remove these old functions from Windows 11 in the near future.

There were first signs in a Canary Insider with an ID, when activated, that these old functions can no longer be accessed.
But fortunately, as always, Microsoft has blacklisted the entire setup name.
For example, if you rename the installer from StartAllBack.. .exe to sab.exe, the installation will start normally again.
It works the same way with ExplorerPatcher.

It may well be that other programs make it onto the list of blocked programs.
Microsoft still has time to fill the list until the general start of Windows 11 24H2 / Windows 12 24H2 in September 2024.

And exactly the (classic) taskbar is what I was mainly using via StartAllBack.
The start menu it is offering can be done by other apps as well (Start11, OpenShell).
In Start11 a smaller taskbar and coloring the taskbar background are possible too.
That were the main things I was unsatisfied about since upgrading to Windows 11, other things like larger clock and easy sound mixing can be solved by other apps.

AFAIK setting the height of the taskbar to Small in Start11 v2 still doesn't make it as small as when you use ExplorerPatcher to bring back the Windows 10 taskbar and, next, you change the Windows 10 taskbar to just a single row. No matter how hard I try, the Windows 10 taskbar is the only viable option on a 55 inch screen or larger, using 3840×2160 display resolution with the Scale set to 150% in Windows Settings | System | Display. Maybe if I wore glasses the thickness of weck jar lids it could work.

P.S., the height of my taskbar is just 46 pixels.

The only time I ever used a start menu replacement was with Windows 8. When 11 came out I paid $5 to turn that old Start8 license into a Start 11 license but I've never used it. I figured after the Windows 8 fiasco, I could deal with whatever MS wanted to throw at me. No one has bitched and griped more than me when Windows changed something in ways I didn't like or wasn't familiar with.
But as I aged, I've realized letting something MS does raise my blood pressure is not worth it. Yes, I still bitch and gripe, but in the end, I've found that adapting is no more than a learning curve. Adapting sure beats the hell out of working myself up so much I end up in an early grave.
